Default Dr10 questions

I am about to pick up 2 dr10s . Cars have a 3.5T hole shot motor and the other car has a 6900kv hobbywing motor . My question is for suspension. Would anyone suggest or know if integy aluminum suspension kits benefit how straight car will go or can point me in a direction for suspension or parts to help improve the car. Thanks

All our DR10's have stock suspension. THe only thing you may want to change is shocks/ springs (but thats a whole other topic). I dont think the integy alum stuff will help much. Looks nice though. Also with alum. if you hit something it will bend. The plastic flexs and usually comes back.

I wouldnt buy INtegy if they were paying me to buy it at 10 times the cost.

That said, They are not too bad. I would upgrade to metal gears in the trannies out of the box. Maybe zero rear toe plates/inserts.

Right now I do not see the need to add all that aluminum to the DR10. On mine the only metal part that I have added was the rear motor guard from Drag Race Concept in order to mount their slider wheelie bar.

I have some tr question. I have not bought the ESC/Motor or pinion. what should I buy.
I am thinking about Tekin RS Pro with a 3.5 motor. but no idea about gearing.

It really depends on your car weight and setup. get the 3.5T motor unless you plan on buying motors as you improve. pinion gear for the 3.5T motor start with a 16T thru 21T.

I chose the RX8 to use with my 3.5 Trinity DM Holeshot. Reason was no Motor Limits on 2s, so I could drop to a 2 turn and not be worried about the ESC taking it.

I keep seeing this, so I'm going to say something... "motor limit" doesn't really mean anything. You can get the RSPro in a combo with a 2.5t (that's a 3.5t limit on the rspro) from Tekin themselves.

Dont get me wrong, the RX8 is awesome, but they're hard to find because everyone thinks they need one for 2s. The only reason you would need an RX8 for drag racing is if you're running a 4-pole motor.

"Motor Limit doesn't really mean anything"... Ummmm. Until you're up against it and burn out the ESC.

Thats a lot of assuming you're doing.

1 you are assuming people are dumb. 2nd you're assuming they put motor limits on escs for advertising value.

I'm assuming, because we're talking about Drag Racing, that you aren't bashing a 2.0t. Even if you try to build a bomb, like 3S on a 2.0t with 32/72 gearing, a drag run is 2-3 seconds long... shorter than an average burnout and shorter than most factory burst/peak ratings. You may only get one run before thermal cutoff, but it will run. I know this because one of the local racers has a rudis funny car running a 2.5t on 3s with direct drive. The car has seen plenty of passes and shows no signs of blowing up. It doesn't go straight and it's way too much power for a 2lb car, but that's another discussion.

I'll say it again: Tekin sells a combo that, according to their "motor limits", you should not run. ( https://retail.amainhobbies.com/teki...t2814/p1216111 )

Dude, I'm just trying to save you some money. If you have an RS Pro already, you dont need to drop another $220 on an RX8. Just remember it's a drag car, give it some time to cool between runs, you'll be fine.
