Most 17.5 classes don't allow boost. Does yours?

If your running 90% to 100% throttle do you really need to boost? I just started running street stock oval myself. I have the timing high on my 13.5 at 54 degrees. Well above 6 amp. Witch gives me 42000 rpm. Any advice would be great. Thanks. If boosting I would set timing at 35 and add 20. Gear for like 13.5 ,8.5 ish or higher.

Increase the ESC timing to boost power. However, be cautious as too much timing can lead to overheating. Start with a moderate increase and adjust based on the motorís temperature and performance. The FDR is crucial for balancing speed and acceleration. A lower FDR (smaller pinion or larger spur gear) will increase acceleration but decrease top speed, while a higher FDR (larger pinion or smaller spur gear) will do the opposite. For a 17.5 motor, you might start with an FDR around 4.0 and adjust based on the track size and motor temperature.
