Default 1st SCX10 Build

Hello,

Got a new Rubicon kit for Christmas thought I would share my progress so far.
Parts used this far:
RC4WD Front and Rear Bumper
RC4WD Irocks
Knight Customs Front and Rear Fenders
STRC chubs, spindles, lock outs, rear 4 link brace, upper link kit.
L3 CMS, looks good not sure how it will preform
Axial wide hex
Axial Light bar kit
Boom Racing Kronic axle tubes
Axle heavy duty diffs
Frequskinz Wrap
XJJ wheels, identical to RC4WD methods just 1/3 of the price...

I wanted something a little different, used the wrap, went with out the spare tire and cut the windows out of the top. I plan to spray the top with Tamiya dull coat to give it a more scale look once I find some.

Still not sure on electronics, any suggestions?

Looks sharp...wish I could be there when you get the first scuff lol.
Holmes hobbies motors are my top recommendation. The velineon motors are not good for crawling especially on a scx10. If you have the money go sensored.

Sensored is the only way to go for super smooth crawling but for most trail play non sensored is not bad. Ask my wraith that's been running a vxl. Holmes hobbies stuff is very nice but I'd go tekin fxr or an rs so if you decided to go brushless you dont have to buy a new esc.

Up date, I removed the wrap, and almost got it finished up.

Looks good. I'm gearing up myself for another scx build. Going to start with a deadbolt.

Thanks, I picked up a used rtr Rubicon. Going to build a Honcho out it. Always been fond of that body, but never had one.

Sounds fun. I'm wanting to build a Honcho again myself.

Default Deadbolt RTR

I got the RTR Deadbolt last week. I've done some cosmetic stuff (Jerry cans, fire extinguisher, rope, sleeping bag, and tow chain), and of course I'm doing a high speed paint job on the skull helmet. I know wheels and bumpers will be next... but as for performance I'm not sure where to start. The electronics seem good enough for a beginner to crawling, but I clearly need to lower the center of gravity. Any tips or ideas are appreciated.

Right now I'm running an scx10 deadbolt with stock style electronics and they work great. Im also running small 3s packs and stock shocks but it's all converted to aluminium 4 link front and rear. I cannot believe how well the scx10 works as a stock rtr. It doesn't take much to make it even better. 4 link front and rear is a huge start.

How is she coming ? They do make lowering kits for the scx10 also. If you still think she's to tall.
