SCX10 ii, My Head is Spinning

SCX10 ii, My Head is Spinning
New to Crawlers, as of yesterday, i had been contemplating the purchase. I ended up buying a decently shaped scx10 ii from a guy on a local group.
It is an RTR. so not knowing much about this at all, my intention was to get some instant gratification in buying rtr, and buying used wasn't an issue as my intention was to build a monster rig.
Shopping for parts today, I come to find that the RTR has a different transmission than the Kit. The parts i wanted to buy specifically states
"Will NOT work with vehicles equipped with the RTR transmission"
Lovely. At this stage it looks like my options are to convert this, but I don't really know what to do going forward, especially the fact that the parts i was considering are New Transmission parts.
SCXT3201 aluminum spur gear cover
Hot Racing Axial SCX-10 II RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups
SCXT3801 aluminum center gearbox case
Hot Racing Axial SCX-10 II RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups
SCXT38TC01 aluminum transfer case
Hot Racing Axial SCX-10 II RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups
SCXT37A02 heavy dute u-joint shaft
Hot Racing Axial SCX-10 II RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups
Is this simply a gearing issue, are am i completely screwed with the RTR version of this truck?

Why would you be screwed? I wouldn't bother converting at all, the RTR uses the simpler, smaller, and widely hop-uppable SCX10 transmission. (from the first version) It's very easy upgraded, just keep an eye out for SCX10 parts.
The only thing going for the kit transmission is that it can accept a 2 speed. If you are going to go that route, then I'd look into swapping - otherwise, it's a step backwards imo.

+1 ax10 transmission is better for crawling imo, as its smaller and lighter. Just needs upgraded gears. Robinson or ssd make great upgrades.

right on, thanks for the input.
like i said, i bought it used in hopes of doing a long drawn out scale build. not knowing much about crawlers in general, when i started reading into it a bit, i saw that the trans was different. initially i had thought i'd done myself a huge disservice.
it hadn't dawned on me me look at scx10 parts, i was doing a mad search at hot racing in the scx10ii section, and was lost.
so, since the RTR scx10ii has the older trans, as far as all drive terrain is concerned, will i need to be looking at the scx10v1 parts?

No, just the transmission is the old ax10 style. The axles are the new ar44 style.

mip or junfac driveshafts are good.
The stock axle gears are plenty strong enough, but currently no overdrive/underdrive gear set exists for them that I know of, but I don't own the axles so havent been keeping that close an eye on them.
What does however exist is the new dlux cheezeberger transmission which gives you over/underdrive at the transmission instead of the axle, as well as rotating one of the driveshafts in the opposite direction to help with torque twist.

Internal RTR are plastic. I swapped mine to the kit version and was surprised to see the internals were metal. Plus it just looks more scale to me.

Yeah I picked up a scx10.2 kit transmission from a another forum. The rtr comes with the skidplate to mount it i the spare parts. The kit tranny comes with all metal gears. If you can grab one for 30-40 bucks well worth it. I know the axial tranny is proven but I like the scale look and lower driveline angles of the kit one.
