Should I get a redcat Everest 1/10 or something else under $200

this was sort of my point. the key here is the $200 cap. Under normal circumstances you're not getting axial anything new or used for 2 bills. Sure there's the odd occassion when someone is in a jam, or needs a fix and will give something away super cheap...But you can't ever count on finding it.
I'm not against the axial stuff by any means. well I might be against the 1/10 Yeti a little. I don't hate mine, but I seriously dislike it. I'd give my left nut to get my hands on an original XR10 scorpion kit, at the same price as I got my first one.
As for the Redcat stuff; haters will always hate on the name. Same as Integy.

I see where you are coming from. Finding deals is rare in parts of the country. Where I live its all about bartering and trading. I'm not bashing brands either just trying to say patience does pay off. Redcats and Maxstones are great for beginners, i guess I have never had one. Only had used Axial's and a Twin Hammers. I usually don't dump a lot of money in these but buy one, use it for awhile, sell it for what i have in it ore more, and get another. If your not careful you can dump serious money into a scale crawler.

When someone is putting a cap on a hobby, then this person is simply wasting time.
You gotta be realistic, any hobby will pull cash at some point. This is not like a casino where one says I will go with 200 and leave as soon as all is gone.
Do you have the time to work on the crawler? Do you have the skills to upgrade? If this is to bash around a little and get a feel for the crawler deal and if you dont like it give it to someone in the family or the newspaper kid etc, whatever, then buy a Redcat. Which if your max is 200 then modding and competition is not what you are looking for.
I would give it a try to the HG P402 or the Redcat, its about the same as a traffic ticket, you live, you learn. Either keep having more tickets, or it will be your last.
