Axial Wraith vs Wraith Spawn
Im looking at buying a Wraith and the lhs is trying to direct me towards a Spawn saying they are the best bang for the buck. So my question is, What is the difference. He said the only difference is the body and the components are actually better.

These are the differences I'm aware of:
The Spawn has the updated HD driveshafts (better than older design on Poison Spider and original), 3 piece beadlocks (same as PS, original were one piece glue ons), Ripsaw tires (PS has licensed BFGs, original has the same Ripsaws), waterproof receiver box (new design that is superior to the one used on the PS and original), no lighting (same as PS, original had 4 white and 2 red LEDs installed), one piece interior (PS and original have a multi piece interior that includes full and separate seats), Tactic servo (PS and original has an Axial branded AS-3 servo, specs are very similar, might actually be the same unit, not sure), and the Spawn has a Hobbywing made Axial branded AE-5 ESC (PS and original have a Castle made Axial branded AE-2). Oh, and the bodies are different of course, but you didn't need me to tell you that.
Personally I stick with kits and choose my own gear, but that's not what we're talking about here. If you want to run ragged, try to skip ponds, and put it away wet, the Spawn is probably the better choice based solely on the better radio box and waterproof ESC. However, for my money, just looking at the upgrade path, either of the other two is the better choice because while the Hobbywing is a decent ESC it's not nearly as customizable as the Castle unit. I would find myself in the market for an AE-2 upgrade at a minimum in almost no time. Waterproofing is super cheap and easy, nice ESC not quite as much so.
