Wannabe scale crawler build

I bought some assorted parts so I am going to build a wannabe scale crawler. Who knows it might even work. The body is a Radio Shack that looks like a Suzuki or a Tracker pick one. Everything on it is close to scale except the width it is about 1/2 inch to wide and I am not going to try and narrow it. That is the only thing right on this build. I am using a set of what will be highly modified Traxxas independent axles convereted to a mess that might work as a strange straight axle. I will post pictures soon. Sit back and enjoy the entertainment.

Slap some 1.9"s on there and you have a super bad ass ride. The 2.2"s are really cool though

Well it's simple I got a good deal on 2 sets of 2.2s so that's what I'm going with the 1.9 would be a better choice but so would a smaller axle. I am only going to narrow it by about 6 inches and then it will be a straight crooked axle. Oh yea I'm making the beadlocks for it too. Wish me luck.

That body is awesome - great find!

A friend of mine found it he collects scrap and picked it up somewhere. I think it is going to be Pumkin Orange unless I change my mind. I still have work to do on it.

First coat of paint went on today bright yellow. This will be the accent color after I figure out some graffics. Got ahold of a beadlock rim to measure to make my own and got a name "Pumpkin Smasher" Now My buddy shows up wit what looks like a late 80s Toyota Extracab in 1/16 and a nice Ford Crew Cab close to 1/10. Looks like more projects.

Ah the Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker. Cool little cars. What is the wheelbase of this body? Would like to get my hands on one of these.

freaksofnature 01-27-2013 02:57 PM

judging by the looks of the body id say a set of losi mrc axles will fit perfectly under that body with 1.5 tires

cuzinitre 01-28-2013 07:24 AM

CSB510 The wheelbase is between 9.5 and 10 inches I used the tracker wheelbase and it scaled out to 1/10 scale but is about 1/2 inches to wide.
Freaksofnature you are probably right but I already had the other stuff and I kind of like doing stuff the The next one looks like a late 80s Toyota extacab and measured at about 1/16 scale I also have a nice looking F150 that is screaming light me up. Pictures in in next post.
