The flying frenchman Patrice and I were all gung-ho to hit the track for some electric 1/8 scale buggy racing but the rain gods buggered us again and rained all night, killing our plans for off-road racing domination once again. That fortunately left some perfect conditions for a mid-day shred on the mountain trails with our SCX10s. We hit every kind of obstacle imaginable. Patrice burned his trusty 12T Titan finally but quickly had a new one in and we burned of some more batteries. My truck had my beat up old body on in order to keep my new one nice and shiny for the TTC. I had some spur gear issues, and you can hear them. I bought a new cheapy camera on my way out there and it performed as well as any $40 camera should, lol.

Default Flysky GT3B Hack PSX's Custom Firmware 0.61 How to hack? 8 channel 4-wheel steering D

Flysky GT3B Hack PSX's Custom Firmware 0.61 How to hack? 8 channel 4-wheel steering Dual ESC Mixing

This video will show you the step by step of installing the custom firmware into your GT3B Transmitter.
This mod had been tried on Flysky GT3B and Hobbyking GT3B, and should work with the Eurgle version of the GT3B as well, cos essentially, they are all the same radio...

Had been wanting to do this quite some time back, and finally had time to sit down and play around with it.
You may ask, why do you want to go for the custom firmware?

Because it'll maximize the full potential of the low cost transmitter!

Below are some of the new features that the custom firmware will add on...

Some features include
--------------------------------------------
3 - 8 Channels
Trim
Sub-trim (All channels)
EPA's (All channels)
Adjustable Backlight timer
Inactivity Alarm
63 Model Memory
Calibration Menu
ST and TH Dead Zone
Channel Speed (All Channels)
Dual ESC Mixing
4WS Mixing
Multi Position Switches
Key Mapping (Map the keys on the radio to control different channels)

What will you need for the firmware upgrade?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
- Simple tools to remove the screws
- Soldering iron and some basic soldering skills
- 4pin header pins
- 4-wire cable with 4pin servo type connectors on both sides
- STM8S programmer - costs around S$15 or so, can't really remember
- USB Cable

ST Visual Programmer download - http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF210568
Firmware download - https://github.com/semerad/gt3b/tree/master/Releases

The instructions in the video should be quite straight forward...
Hope it helped you.

Thanks for watching!

Default Bulb Flies Solo!

http://youtu.be/8_At1prYzWs

Everyone else was either racing or working or sleeping so I headed out trailing by myself Saturday morning. Everywhere I could think of is flooded in Calgary so I headed outta town to Big Hill Springs Provincial Park. I've heard this place is a bit of a heat score and the rangers show up to kick ya out, so I figured it was a good place to try out by myself. It's a small day use area that featured some cool natural rock formations called Tufa. The water was higher than normal but not too bad. I didn't even explore half the park, so expect another video in the future with more than just me in it. I think it'll be even sweeter when the high water goes down

Default Time For Plan B! - Bulb Productions #13

http://youtu.be/Nwiiapohs9c

Perhaps fitting for my 13th video, my morning was plagued with poor luck. When I left early Sunday morning my original plan was to hit Horseshoe Canyon, knowing it was dry when everything else wasn't. It was sunny and nice when I left but by the time I got there it was full rain storm, wind and driving rain.
I turned around and raced back to Calgary knowing some others were going to be at Confluence Park off of Beddington Trail. When I got there our buddy Erwin was out for his first trail run with an RTR Wraith. He and Walter were still going but Alnoor had a catastrophic failure hours earlier and was unable to repair. I joined them for about an hour before the rain had caught up to me again and drove us out.

My rig:

Axial SCX10
DeWalt 12V motor
Stock ESC (Plasti-dip sprayed)
Hitec waterproof servo
RC4WD Crazy Krawler tires
Traxxas Shocks
Losi Springs
RPM Spring retainers
Custom made bumper brackets
2WD Slash front bumper
Proline body
Tactic RX/TX
Hobbyking Batteries.

Well it happened again, our plan to visit Horseshoe Canyon was foiled by Mother Nature, so we headed to Big Hill Springs. I was a little nervous to bring such a big crew there for fear of the Rangers showing up, but we were quiet and no one bothered us. This place has some ridiculous rock features that I have yet to capture on camera since my battery dies before I get the chance. Someone donate a camera, I'll give you a Tim Bulb sticker.

This was our first excursion to the Infamous River Trail since the big flood of 2013 rolled through town and the Mighty Bow River claimed her territory once again. There certainly isn't much drivable terrain left, until the water goes down some more. 90% of the trail and it's obstacles were washed away or jammed into giant walls of logs, branches, leaves and garbage. There's enough wood of every size and shape that the local homeless dudes could build a town in the trees. Next time someone has a bunch of time they should go out with a hammer and nails and start building. I didn't really film much of the carnage since I was kind of excited to get to the rocks for my first action there since winter.

Thanks to Shane "Longview" for the camera truck driving. twitter.com/eddiebrown192

I get most of my parts from Action Hobby in Calgary Alberta Canada.

We visited Bragg Creek Provincial Park to survey what the flood had done there. It wasn't as bad as I had expected but there was definitely some changes. Just like River Trail, every inch of ground was covered in sand. There was a noticeable lack of garbage in the trees however, mostly due to there not being any towns up river.

Conditions were slippery and there weren't a lot of obstacles cleared but that certainly didn't matter on a gorgeous morning like this.

White Chevy:

Default Throwaway Special 2013! - Bulb Productions #17

Throwaway Special! - Bulb Productions #17 - YouTube

This a compilation of about 98% unused clips from my last three months of trailing. The gnarliest 7 minutes of tire shredding, mud flinging, suspension busting, fart rippin' (wasn't me), motor killin', water fjording, camera destroying action you'll see this side of the Bow River.

It started out way better and in 720p, but for some reason my video editing software was giving me grief.
