Default novak 18.5 goat 2s system

Is the novak 18.5 goat 2s system good for a scale truck such as a axial trail honcho, and what would be the speed of the system with an average gearing

I personally dont like the goat systems..
Seen one go up in flames at one of our comps a while ago and have heard of them smoking etc.

Ran that same system in my first scale truck and it was about as fast as a box stock 2wd slash.

Didnt have any trouble out of it but wanted to be waterproof so I switchd to Holmes Hobbies ESC's and 35t HW brushed motors and havnt looked back. Chose the waterproof option for the esc and over a year later still problem free. After winning the 2010 Indiana state TTC I cleand my rig with a blast from a garden hose.
I would not try that with a goat system.

I've been running that combo for over 2 years no problems, it's ultra smooth and powerful. Top speed is under 5mph in my ax10 comp crawler. I only crawl when it's dry out! I'm waiting for the smoke, my buddy had his smoke for no reason, mine is older than his.

I use it in my Wraith. I love it. I have had no problems at all. Crawls smooth and the hill hold is sweet.

I put the motor and speed control in my axial trail honcho, every thing runs perfect except i can not figure out the drag brake settings. Every time i hit the throttle and let off the whole car flips front wards. If anyone has an explination i would appriciate it

You cant go from full speed and just let go of the throttle. You have to slowly come to a stop because the ESC is applying brakes when you let go of the throttle. I program my drag brake so that on the steepest hill it will just inch forward. You will get used to it.
