Default New Electronics suggestions

The ESC on my old AX Scorpion is cutting out and may be on its last leg- NOW it is an older brushless set up- The brushless ESC's are nice but in my fixed income world, kind of expensive to replace - OR do I replace with a 12T HH crawler motor and 1080 ESC? It crawls just great right now but as stated that ESC- any thoughts?

I would run the Hobbywing 1080. It’s super cheap and is great for crawlers. I had one in my wrath for a long time tell I went brushless.

I have a few trucks that I run the 1080 in, paired with Holmes Crawlmaster Sport 550 12t motors. It’s a great setup for 65-70 bucks, and really easy to adjust settings. I also have a few trucks with high priced brushless setups. The 1080/550 Sport combo is the best bang for the buck out there. Just make sure you can fit a 550 can motor in your ride. If not, any of the Holmes 540 brushes motors are great as well.

We live in a great time now where we are able to get these brush ESC's with all the rock crawling tuning features and powerful brush motors for less than $100!
