Desktop/Micro crawler under 200?
 

is there anything in the 18th or smaller scale, RTR, preferably with high articulation and future upgrades availble?? 200 dollar budget (somewhat loose on that number). I would prefer a pure crawler caged type chasis, but would consider a "real" body style as well if it preforms very well (bonus points if it can rock a hilux body).

thanks for your inputs. id be using this indoors, outdoors on rock, and playing around in the office at work.

For that budget your best crawler in desktop crawler world will be the ORLANDOO crawler series, they are scaled at tiny 1:35 size, ultra small yet they are very detailed. I have all of them. They comes 3 different chassis; F150, Jeep and Pajero. Each have their crawling characteristics so individually are unique.

im still hoping to find something thats most like a classic comp crawler not modified truck but this looks good if i dont find anything. may just go into whatever the normal comp size is isntead.

Few years back used the market have lots of desktop size comp crawler which is smaller and nice ones. I have the 1:43 scale Yokomo comp crawler that have good axle articulation. Its MOA axle. But now extinct in the market. You might find it at ebay for used ones.

You're Orlandoo wiring is so much cleaner than mine LOL. I probably need to re-do mine, it's too fragile right now.

Thanks, there a reason for clean wiring not just for looks but also to lower the CG weight (center gravity), most people make mistake cramping raw components into the Orlandoo chassis making it heavy weight (top heavy) and toppled on its side during crawling. As seen in my video ht Orlandoo now can easily perform extreme crawling at various angle without toppling on its side and climb smoothly. Its lightweight setup makes a huge differences and makes desktop crawling more thrilling.

my LHS has an orlando hunter, but we couldnt figure out what sort of electronics would be best to put in it. If i can figure out a decent priced set up i might get it. What ESC did you use in yours and what motors (i saw they offer three speeds). Also, soundbox version 1 and version 2, whats the difference? Any parts I should upgrade for performance, or bling that you can think of?

Usually all orlandoo uses same default electronics that comes with full package (recommended) like motors, servo and boards.

I can't comment about the soundbox because i never used on mine.
There no need to upgrade or bling because stock kit performed excellent and lightweight to climb/crawling.

You make me want to go and re-do my wiring. I think I probably need to crack open my receiver and figure out how to wire the lights more cleanly. Really not looking forward to it.

so i dont think i have the skill to build the orlando sadly. I am going to keep on the lookout for one of the MOA micros above. if anyone wants to sell one, im a happy buyer.

Very easy, just remove the radio receiver casing and snip the pins to make it lighter and compacts. It helps improve the crawler weight and CG a lot by 70%.



Just take your time to learn slowly to build the kit. The reward building yourself is satisfying...once you tried it you'll want more = that's confident building. All R/C is based on hand build. Can't build, can't R/C. So go for it. ;)
Btw i'm waiting for my Orlandor Defender, just pre-ordered my fourth collection. :)
