Oooh TRF shocks...good choice

What will the Assassin shocks be like? Is is it a bladder cap based shock design or does it utilise bleed screws?

Hi all,

All test drivers have ran different shocks because Corally decided quite at the end of the car development stage, what shocks they wanted.

I know it will be threaded, but do not now of the internal design.

Regards,
Mario

I'll have a day and a night to get the car ready for the Winter Nats! i'm keen as!
So BK, what do you think?

Leaving for the winters nats now,

As it turns out Cookie, Ari and BK will be up against the world champ - Surikarn!

Should see some top racing between Australias best up against the worlds best.

BK,

Any results and setups?

How about some imressions from the drivers at this time.

In the mod class

1st - Surikarn - Evo (qualified 1st)
2nd - Darrin Campbell - XRAY (qualified 5th)
3rd - Andrew Abbot - TC3 (qualified 2nd)
4th - Cookie - Assassin (qualified 3rd)

I ran my Evo3 as some Assassin parts for my kit were missing , i scored 13th...not happy

Other Assassin on track, Ari Bakla (qualified 4th) in Mod scored 8th i think?, Matt Dall 15th. In stock Brett Drayton (qualified 6th) with an Assassin scored 10th.

Two of the Assassin pictured ran single belt, full time 4wd, not really the optimal setup, really needed a one-way. One pulleys were missing at time of construction so we had to compromise. This also meant we did not have enough parts to build enough Assassins to hit the track, we wanted to build 4, but could only build two (other than cookies and ari's cars).

I'll find out what setups were been ran. I should have my 2 belt Assassin ready for our next big meeting which is in two weeks. My personal impression is great, i can't wait to drive mine.

The drive train is very smooth and very free... the chassis is also very light as much as 90grams had to be added to one car to get it up to 1500g.

Strength of the car seemed good too, one of my co racers crashed his assassin quite heavy once or twice and it survived, no broken arms. The diffs on the car are fantasic, very smooth and free, don't slip and are sealed. On the 1 belt version the minimum rollout we could achieve was 33mm, a bit tall for mod, but in the zone for stock.

Ari and Cookie ran 2 belt mid motor configuration, their cars are also very smooth and fast, both guys suffered stripped spur gears at times during the day, this issue may have been as a result of small rocks, i think cookie was running 64pitch?.

(I'm sure Cookie will share his thoughts)

more pics from the meeting avail here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthre...788#post416788

From what i saw the cars were handling very well, although both dual belt cars in mod, had some very weird noises coming out of them, and i believe both stripped spurs during the day, cookie with a 64 pitch, and ari with 48.

Although still a good performance for the first couple of meetings.

Hi Guys.

Two questions (sorry if they're dumb):

* what's the internal ratio of the single belt setup?

* does the kit come with a front one way diff? Seems from BK's post that it doesn't.

Cheers!

single belt ratio 1 : 1
double belt 1 : 2

In the master edition is the one-way diff upfront included.

I think the front one-way is included in the Master version, its listed in all the specs I've seen so far.

Not all parts were available when BK's car was shipped - no shocks either!

Cheers
Peter

ps.
It's that day again but I'm not saying which day this time.

Did you remember to say "rabbits"?

If not that could be why.

front one ways are included, it's just the the oneway pulleys were missing from our kits. We have the parts now, i'll have my Assassin ready for action by the end of this week. I'll be constructing my chassis with the mid motor option.
