Byron Fuels Heartland challenge - July 28-29
The HobbyTown USA Hobbyplex in Omaha, NE and Byron Fuels have teamed up to host the Heartland Challenge nitro off-road race, July 28-29.
The Plex is one of the only purpose built indoor RC tracks in the country that can handle the rigors of hosting a nitro event.
Our track is 160 x 80 feet with no poles to run into. 16 garage doors surround the building so ventilation is never an issue. 12 sky lights in the roof provide plenty of natural light in the daytime. It's just like racing outside, but with a roof. No more rain outs.
We have 175 4-foot pit spots complete with power and chairs in a seperate air conditioned building, and a hobby store with inventory coming out of our ears.
Here are a couple of videos of our track. I'll be updating this thread with nitro car videos from our RC Pro Series race in April and Jconcepts 1:8 Spring Nationals in May.
I just got word that Cody King and Ryan lutz will be among the Byron's team drivers in attendance.
Look for an announcement on which other Byron Fuels team drivers will be attendance soon, as well as the link to RCsignup.

Entries have started to roll in. Its pretty cool to see Cody king and Ryan Lutz signed up.
I've started drawing up some new layout ideas.
Byron Fuels have started working up the podium backdrop and the free T-shirts.
As usual we'll do our best to bring you a fun race.
Don't forget about the Byron's contingency!

T-minus 12 days before the big track build.
If you haven't done so and you're coming to the race, do me a favor and get signed up on rcsignup by friday. It'll also help me get a good estimate for awards.
All the classes are looking very competitive. It's going to be a great time.
