Default Trailing Scalers

A place to post pics, ask questions, and generaly chat about Scale rc vehicles. My definition of a "scaler" is any Rc vehicle, land air or otherwise, that you have taken measures to make it look more realistic. Be it a driver and body trim or full out with all the accessories. I love seeing projects and unique stuff so post your pics!!!

Our newest acquisition is a Kyosho Blizzard DF-300. Its a 2 speed Nitro Snowcat, track driven. I love it. I dont know much about them but my girl is going to set it up all out
So far just factory it has a windshield wiper, mirrors, light bar on top, bed rails, exhaust stack, and motor cooling fan. We are going to paint it all correct and add a winch and boom to the back on a stainless bed when i get around to makin it.

Nice, what kind of chassis is that? I love the body, is that a pathfinder?

The chassis is the axial scaler chassis and the body is a pathfinder off of a old kyosho 1/8th scale ,it took me a long time to find that body.

Let me look around, Ill see if I can find something. I have a bad ass nitro quake chassis (8th scale) all upgraded, it has a bigblock nitro motor. Ive seen those turned into good crawlers.
You know, you could do a nice scaler off that Tmaxx too....
You should think about selling that amp and guitar setup for $500 and then you could buy 2 of the Axials on craigslist......
That would be a good price for that setup if you listed it there.

Im fabing a 6th scale winch right now from scratch, Ill get some pics posted asap. Im using a rotor motor from a large scale heli till i figure a way to mount my 75t motor. I tried it on another winch i built and it would lift a large cinderblock no problem I want to build a couple 6th scale super capable crawlers with scaler bodys. Anyone got anything that big????

Also we are putting together a completely scale outboard Nitro Drag Boat, I already have a driver with a helmet and working face shield, and the biggest outboard marine nitro motor they make Im still having some tuning issues (only getting about 60 mph on the pond) but Im slowly working them out. Next Im doing the paint with the shop logo and colors.

Default New Scaler

Im building a 1/8th scale sand rail, Ive been wanting to do this for a while but I couldnt find a chassis that I really like till now...
I picked up an 84ish Kyosho Vanning, in near perfect condition!! This thing has a 1/4 x 3/8 aluminum solid square rail chassis, and built in rollcage. Its chain drive and all metal diffs and gears! So far Ive added 17mm axle hubs, Ofna Ultra tires and wheels, Mach 26ss Big Block, and a long throw front suspension. Ill be posting pics as soon as I can!!

I can Build you one...
Im working on a 1/6th scale winch right now. Metal winch housing, aluminum drum, extra duty reversible motor, all Im waiting on is the gears to be made.

Cool RC Giant Scale Battle Tank for sale

I have a 21st Century Toys M1A2 Abrams Tank. It is a 9th scale, 2 1/2 feet long, rotating turret, heavy tracks, full control, 12v operating system. Needs some work on the barrel. Runs perfectly.

$150 Firm on the price, these things are rare. I will post pics in an hour or so.
