I'm looking for Traxxas unless there is any other brands that have better vehicles in the same budget. Thanks!

You can still get a top of the line monster truck for the price range you mentioned. I tried bashing a short course truck with low clearance. It picked up all the leaves in the yard...

If you are looking for a basher. I would recommend the HPI Racing Savage XS Flux 4WD. It cost around 310, but if you buy it from Tower Hobbies you can save some money by using one of there coupon codes. All you would need is a 2s or 3s lipo battery and a battery charger.

I want a 1/10 scale basher. I would like a truck that handles well, like the slash 4x4. Should I get the rally or the hcg or the lcg with oba?

One neat thing I forgot to mention was that you can find any traxxas slash parts on must of the hobby shops. So, finding parts for a slash would be fairly easy.

In New York, you can find Traxxas Slash parts in the local Pep Boys Auto Parts Store.

Believe it or not but you can get Traxxas slash parts from Walmarts website.

I second this. It's not the obvious choice, but parts are cheap online, and you can build it into an awesome budget basher. Here's a picture of mine with Hyper 10SC front shock mounts and shocks, Mashers on 2.8 Desperados, Ford Raptor body, and T-bone racing front bumper/wheelie bar.

I'm running a Tacon 3674 motor, Hobbywing SC8 ESC, and SMC 3S batteries. It's wicked fast and wicked tough.

I prefer hcg for off-road bashing. I tried with a low cg chassis and it just scrapes over all the rocks and picks up all the dirt inside.

That's why monster trucks were invented.

Yeah, I'd vote for Traxxas Slash 4x4 also. Crazy durable and tons of aftermarket available.
