I have dabbled in a few different things but have seemed to settle on 1/8 electric off road. I have had fun doing some other things but they never lasted because they either got boring or track(s) closed.

I started with 1/8 nitro off road and did that for a few years but always needing a pit man got aggravating. I dabbled in 1/18 carpet touring (got boring), Dirt oval with a 1/8 nitro late model (LOVED this but track closed) and a 2wd SCT dirt mod (sold it because track is to far away), 2wd SCT (got boring) and 4wd SCT (sold to buy a etruggy).

I now have and ebuggy and etruggy (havent raced it yet) and I like it. 1/8th scale racing without always needing a pit man. That and there are really only 8th scale tracks around me so pretty much anything else is out of the question.

And where in Florida do you race? There's some pretty quick "club racers" in Florida. Claiming to be a "top 5 club racer" honestly doesn't mean much. There are numerous tracks that have 2-3 full factory Pros that "club race" weekly. And there are tracks who's fastest guy wouldn't make the C main in 2wd buggy at MY local track. My point, and I'm not bashing you, is that saying "I'm a top 5 club racer" is all relative to your location and who you race with.

with the amount of classes to hand these days, it's no surprise some people have no niche as such and race anything with 4 wheels on it

Although some have 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYkveeQ0hOY
