Exclamation Item shipped to wrong address?

Ok heres my question, lets say someone ordered something from an online company, and the company accidentaly ships it to someone elses address, can the person who received that package get in trouble for refusing to return it? I ask this because a received a package via UPS I didnt order, and the seller now wants it back, I know the right thing to do would be to send it to them, but im curious what would happen if i didnt... After all, it has my name on it, right?

Its viewed as theft b/c you know it wasn't yours and you didn't pay for it. So if the company knows you have it (keyword KNOWS) the can go after you.

Its a federal crime, if its not addressed to you and you open it, thats stealing.

Now if it was something you didnt order that was addressed to you, thats a whole different story. This has hapened a lot with Dell customers.
