Default Massive crash at Le Mann

Allan McNish was lucky to escape, along with several photographers / track officials / onlookers on the edge of the track, after he lost control while attempting a very optimistic overtaking manoeuvre. Cant believe no one was injured.

boy if that wasnt, a stupid move there was no way possible he could of made that work ! if i was the guy in the ferrari i would be really pissed at him for that move !

i think one of the photographers did get hurt i seen somebody laying on the ground .

why does road course tracks still use sand to slow down cars it doesnt work good .

thats a good crash though

They were very lucky, pieces of the car landed in between them for the most part, worst injury I could see from that was one the photographers tripping and falling as he was trying to get away.

Yeah it's getting really ugly out there. I really hope rocky is ok, that was wide open, head on.

Hopefully Rocky is ok.

I saw this earlier. Im surprised at the fact that he even made the move. McNish is one of the most expirienced endurance drivers in the world, and for him to make that move in the first hour is just really strange.

They ACO instituded the "dorsal fin" on the LMP cars to prevent roll overs when the cars were traveling sideways, I guess they work. The fact that non of the people on the other side of the barrier got hurt is miraculous!! Just getting hit by a tire can kill you

Looks like Rocky's okay, but they're keeping him overnight as a precatuion. And McNish was back at the track but went back to the hotel to sleep it off.

And Mike never hit the Ferrari. Just putting the car in the dirt turned him.

You think the low seat level and the high fenders on the Audi have something to do with it?

No reason to drive that aggressive that early in the race. smh...

80% of this is seeing if your car will last 24 hrs LOL.

It very well may have. I think the biggest problem is the speed differential. I have never seen the LMPs look this fast. They change direction like F1 cars now while the GT cars are slow as ever.

Slowing them down by droping 150hp didn't do much.

they are nearly as fast as last year, but take way more risk.

and without that ferrari for mcnish he would have gone off aswell.
