Royal Purple FTW.

Didn't someone just ask this question a few weeks ago?

Valvoline Synthetic high mileage, I have had great luck with it, I see no reason to change. Any of the top synthetics are going to work good.

Talking

Rotella Synthetic. I run it in my Truck, Van, off-road toys, motorcycles and quads. Great oil for the price, keeps my race engines cleaner and healthier longer between rebuilds. I love the fact I can put the same oil in any one of my Vehicles. And they sell it at Walmart, so I can get it anywhere. I do all my own oil changes and maintenance, so this keeps things a little simpler for me. I have 5 gallons sitting in the shop, ready to go...............

Whatever is 99 cents a quart at Vatozone.

Clean oil>brandname oil. Change it AND YOUR FILTER every 3000 and you could be running Cooking oil.

Most oil filters are in bypass by 2200 miles anyway. Once an engine is broken in, it doesn't produce much in the way of dirt and deposits. Flush the products made every 3K and they don't have a chance to accumulate.

No debate. You can throw around catchphrases all they want. Cannot tell me that used big name oil @5K miles offers any more protection than cheap oil @3K.

Clean oil and filter>*.*

Use Mobile 1 till about the 150,000 mark , switched to Castrol Syntec...

Motor still runs like the 1st day when I purchased new..

I have never added a quart , when down I replace the oil which is about every 7,000 miles

98 S-10 4.3

Aaaand then you threw in the cooking oil comment. Do you recommend Wesson or Crisco?
