Glad to know only minimal damage was done.
I've heard about a guy loosing his 1:1 car due a lipo going up in flames at a nearby flying field.
My Lipos live in their sacks for a very good reason, I should really get an extwingisher for my room and each of my 1:1 cars, although one of my 1:1 cars was recalled because the engine like turning into fire

Plus if you race at a big EP you gotta use sacks other wise you'll loose your best round since you are not allowed to charge without one.

Talking

Was this a hard case lipo or no case? I am just curious if that affected the outcome or not. I have never personally witnessed a lipo fire, but I had a 3s 5000 battery with no case on it puff to like 3 times it's original size while on the charger. 2 of the 3 cells must have ruptured, because my charger only showed voltage for one of the cells. It was my Triton EQ. It sensed that there was a change in voltage, and shut off. Smart charger..............

The battery had about 30 charges on it, and I ran it in a Slash. I think the thump and bump of racing it caused the damage. I try to find every fixed object on the track when I race, and run into it. I use just hard case stuff now, and haven't had any other issues.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that my battery that puffed was a 25C battery, and I was cooking it at 5 amps.

I am not nice to my Slash at all. If I am in the mood to just go drive the crap out of one of my RC's, I always grab the Slash. She loves the abuse........

I am thinking hard case is the way to go in the off-road world. The soft packs work great in my aircraft, though.

Donít forget the quality of the bag. Iíve seen some videos of cheap knockoffs that are scaryÖ.

The original LipoSack by Mark Wood seems to be among the best.

Yes, always check the quality of your sack. If you are not sure on the quality, ask your girlfriend......................
