I'd second the flat bed truck idea.. Some drivers sway as they drive.. wouldnt catch me dead on a scaffold.

This would be perfect for a number of reasons, except for the hassle and expense of using it for an afternoon.

By the way guys, the parking lot is about 300x120 feet (100x40 meters).

Like I said if somebody has a trailer it would be perfect, it's just getting that guy to show up every week.

Indeed. Plus, he has to either store it at his house or go pick and drop off at someone else's house or we would have to rent some drive-up space at a public storage facility.

Well how bout something like this

I know I use something similar to this in the summer when parking lot racing. It leaves plenty of room for 'swaying' too.

After thinking about your ideas, it really helped me refine my original design. I know you guys don't think this is right way to approach the problem, but in the long run, I think this will workout.

The top is now a very stable 34x34 platform that gives those of us that like a wide-stance (me) or like to sway plenty of room. As I started finishing up the first revision, it dawned on me that the hinge idea was just stupid. Ha ha. Then I realized that I could just stack a 34" onto the 37" and when packing it away, the 34" and steps could fit into the 37" to make it much more compact. This roll away size is much shorter, so there is less chance of tipping over. Its gotten down to the size that the property owner might give us some space inside the facility to store this when we're not racing. Based on this size, it will be really easy to just pullout however many we need based on who shows up and we can space them apart enough, so that we're not bumping into each other.

By the way, I decided to use Illustrator to do this just to try it out. Bad choice.
