In that interview with Jeff Gordon, he did say that he wanted to drive a NASCAR. But wasnít interested in actually racing one.

What was up with Will Smith being all over the place? Is Men in Black 4 coming out?

at least it was just Will. Not his annoying kids.

There hace been a number of celebrity at the races. Some seem to avoid the camera and some like the cameras. Will has never met a camera he doesnít like.

F1 is thirsty for brand growth in the US. I think they used Will out of opportunity because he appears to be a fan of Hamilton?

Pretty sure they are friends. I know F1, and Liberty Media are desperate to grow F1 in the States. But unless Will posted that heíd be at the race, how would anyone know to watch. And for the 30 seconds or minute I saw I doubt it would have much effect.

A video of Smith proudly waving the flag of the UAE just before the start of the race is not going to attract very many US fans. Or is it just me?

Things that will make F1 more watched in the US?

More races in the US, and at already established tracks, not new ones built just for F1, and not a street race in New Jersey, for cryin out loud.
American F1 drivers. Yes, more than one.
An American team with backing from an American manufacturer.

Will all of those things work? Yes, they will. Will any of those things happen? Nope.

Quick note about the JJ/ALO swap. Best laps were a 1:40.. best race lap in 2013 was a 1:36.9xx so not far off given track aging, weather, tire and fuek variables.

when Rossi lost his chance at F1 and went to Indy instead that bothered me. Not that it really matters big picture. I wouldnít follow just cause heís an American. Iíd kinda thought the Haas team was going to be more of an American team when I first heard about, then realized itís just another Ferrari team. It would not suprise me time if that team has a short F1 life. Haas said last year itís was hard to consider staying long time if thereís basically zero chance of winning any race.

I wouldnít mind another race here. Think Miami has best chance. But Iím sure they would figure out how to mess up the tv coverage again. Considering Liberty allow ABC to show both the Texas and Mexico races delayed by over an hour.

The biggest issue i see is the time difference. I love a 6am race our time. Most donít. And thatís one thing they canít fix.

I’ve never really understood the hype for the unveiling of paint scheme. But it does mean getting closer to racing starting back up. Just over 40 days I believe

Overall it looks pretty slick...but I would change the HAAS on the side from white to gold.
