Verstappen should have gotten more than the punishment he received. Ocon got a ten second penalty, so whether you think he was at fault or not, he definitely got a harsh punishment. But Verstappen losing his temper again and pushing Ocon after the race? He yet again shows his immaturity. A race ban wouldn't have been out of line.

The pushing incident should have been avoided , officials knew Max’s state of mind and should have had people down there. Max - great driver (sometimes) - poor sportsman always ! I hate that kid

Why are there blue flags if someone who will be lapped may defend his position? It is a cracy rule! Basically the blue flags are useless.

But Verstappen was in front of him so he had all the rights so Ocon should had let him go. And then, if you are a lap behind, what is the need to defend your position for the remaining 20 laps?

Roelof, Blue flags do not come into this specific instance. They weren't displayed (from what I saw in the video) and they should not be displayed to the leader. In other instances blue flags are fine. The issue is good drivers are trying to find a place on the track to lose the least amount of time when allowing a faster car through. That may take a little time which is what everyone complains about - but they all do it. Additionally, since this is a team based motorsport they are definitely encouraged to slow the competition for the other team driver - right or wrong.
Ocon could have driven this smarter by waiting for the DRS zone after turn 2 and this way Verstappen would have had no chance to pass him back immediately. Could Verstappen just let him pass? Sure.. then he burns up his tires following Ocon for the next few laps because clearly if you are the Leader then you have the pace and he'll be right back on his bumper.

The way I saw it Max's arrogance created an opportunity for Ocon to showcase his poor judgment. The responsibility for the pass lies with the one doing the passing. A quick mirror check by Max would have shown him that he wasn't clear to take the apex. The blame should be shared equally for the incident. There isn't enough passing(read racing) in F-1 as it is.

Verstappen is certainly very arrogant and is showing he still has a lot of growing up to do-very immature. I realize emotions run high in those situations but he has a bad attitude. I think Hamilton was right on when he commented on the passing situation- He said he would have had a different attitude, meaning to make a more prudent choice like giving Ocon more room (Max knew he was there after all) or let him pass altogether and deal with him later.
If I understand it correctly, Ocon was actually faster at that point than Max, even thought Max was the leader.

Yes, fresh tires, DRS and the Mercedes engine pulls much quicker on the straight but the RedBull is faster in the corners, that is something everyone in the F1 knows . Ocon was faster but could he stay in front of Max while he was already a lap behind? At that moment Ocon had a lack of common sense.

But in this discussion a same situation was mentioned that a few years ago Ocon did get the order to hold up a driver and in this case he probably did the same but his pitstop was not that clear and did not end up un front of Max to hold him up for a small moment to let Hamilton close the gap.

It's quite simple. Verstappen should have let Ocon past instead of taking unnecessary risks. If Ocon couldn't maintain pace and started to hold Verstappen up, then the blue blags would be waved, and Ocon would have to yield.

Speaking of motorsports.com. For those who use to go to gpupdate.net and liked their format.

Navigate to gpupdate.net/nl and then translate to english. Nice little workout.

Many years ago I heard a rumor. That rumor was that Robert Kubica had agreed to a deal with Ferrari and all that was left to do was sign the contract. That was a happy day.

This morning is the best news I've heard since then. Welcome back to the man both Alonso and Hamilton say is the best.

The sad part is he ran same or better times than the other two guys at the last test and thats with his bum hand... or at pre-season, and they still took the others. Guessing they would have likely had a few more points this season if they chose him instead.

Williams is jacked up right now. So bad that a team with umpteen grid penalties due to 9 retirements is ahead of them, and a team with only 8 races has outscored them by 41. At some point you must realize this is very unlikely a money issues.
