Friggin love the car. It would be a lot faster if it wasn't so heavy. Did you guys know that the CCX is faster then the veyron.

if it were any lighter it would take off at top speed, and the torque from the engine would twiat the chassis!

^^^ Exactly....

Some one sent me a vid riding in the Veyron on a test track at top speed that was awesome. Gave you a little feeling of what its like to be doing 200+mph.

Can you image what maintenance on a car like this costs? Guess if you can afford one, maintenance wouldn'tbe an issue though. Incredible car!

For got about that. But the CCX is lighter and faster and does not take off at top speeds. It's all carbon fiber, every thing. I know what ya mean thow I don't see how the CCX doesn't take off at top speeds.

I guess a car with 4 turbochargers, 16.4 cylinders, 4 radiators almost has to weigh 2 tons.

Same reason F1 and Indy cars don't - aero and the downforce it generates. At these kinds of speeds, they are prob making 1000+lbs of downforce due to the shape of the car and the air air flows over/under it.

Hit a bump, or have the nose get lifted up far enough to catch air and it is going to be airborne though.

Uhm, NO. The CCX is NOT faster. It is QUICKER. There is a difference . In fact, I believe Top Gear has had a few cars out run the Veyron on their track.

Edit: The maker (sorry, I can't spell it) CLAIMS a top speed higher than the Veyron but it has yet to be verified. Officially, Veyron is fastest. CCX is quicker on Top Gear's track, Ascari is even quicker.

It's actually 16 cylinders. They call it a 16.4 for 16 cylinders, 4 valves per cylinder. 8 liter displacement and four turbos.

I love Top Gear but I REALLY love the Top Gear specials. Africa and Vietnam both had me laughing my ass off.
