Default Shipping overseas?

Hi!
I have something that really disturbes me.
Why cant the American people ship overseas? In every single add it says: "USA only" or "48 lower states" and so on, you can accept paypal but not international shipping??! Please tell me why there should be a problem to ship to a foreign country.
If you want to sell faster and more include international buyers.

We can... we just don't like to as it usually comes with a pile of headaches. If it's such a big deal to you, why not just buy local instead of from us here in the US?

I personally don't ship outside the US due to customs forms needed. Customs forms necessitate a trip to the post office. Going to the PO here is a guaranteed 30-45min stand in line.

Sorry, international shipping requires too much time and trouble.

I was asking why, not if you had a headache or two, i have shipped parcels to the US without headache, some declarationforms to fill in though.
Its cheaper for me to buy from US or HK, simple as that.
Thanks Duster for a good explanation.
more answers please.

Hi!
I have something that really disturbes me.
Why do foreigners get their panties in a bunch when Americans won't ship to them?

1) I don't have the time to wait in line at the post office just so a Canadian can buy stuff from me that I could just as easily sell to an American. I've received at least a dozen pm's from Canadians who accuse me of hating foreigners because I won't sell outside the lower 48. Go cry to mommy!

2) If someone stiffs me on a deal, I don't want that person to live in a foreign country because it would be impossible to prosecute them for mail fraud. And if the local authorities can't help me, I don't want to travel to a place where I'll need my passport just to turn the thief into a lamp shade.

3) Most foreigners hate the U.S., but love our cheap stuff. Maybe if they didn't live in a socialist America hating country, they could get cheap stuff too!

As said above, i'd rather not ship outside the US simply because if somebody decided that they wanted to rip me off, it would be far too difficult to press legal actions internationally.

Heck, its difficult enough to deal with scammers within the US. Internationally, its not worth the risk.

Leodis don't be an A$$. He was asking a polite question not whining. Most folks in Europe ship from country to country MUCH more often then we do here, so I can see why someone would wonder at our adversion to international shipping.

tjompa, our postal system is a pain in the rear right now. Lines are long and the postal workers tend to be pretty bad tempered. Shipping within the US is considerably faster, and the US laws concerning mail fraud make it ALOT easier to recover from someone WITHIN the US. Then there are countries like Italy. Italy seems to be a black hole as far as shipping goes. MANY, MANY shipments to Italy NEVER show up. My Son-In-Law ships vintage Ducati motorcycle parts to everywhere in the world EXCEPT to Italy. Ironic considering that they were MADE there.

Can't help it. I've received one too many pm's from Canadian whiners who give me a hard time because I refuse to sell my stuff to them. Blame Canada!

Both RC's i sold recently... Were to people in other countries. I didn't mind the extra form or two.

It all depends on the person i guess..

Helping someone one ebay (realize not here, but many reasons same)....

To have any coverage or insurance, the cost goes up dramatically, If you have a full rtr versus a kit even more. I cant tell how many people get frustrated when I tell them the cost, and they say just ship package mail..... Yea..... So we have no way of knowing if it makes it to you or not. I don't think so.

Foreign buyers don't seem to understand we cannot be responsible for what their tariffs are, and get mad at us when their governments charge them. Then leave us bad feedback as if its our problem. Putting "gift" is illegal, and further, would be found out as dishonest right away when their customs sees the packing slip.

We have had wrong addresses sent to us, and not only do we have to refund their money because they never received the item, we then have to swallow the cost of the shipping. Sometimes $50 to $75 is not easy to swallow.

So these are a few of the reasons you see people unwilling to ship internationally.
