Default Need help, looking for tunes to play.

Since my roommate happens to be an exceptionally talented singer (think of Evanesence) and pianist and I like to think of myself as a fair bass player we are thinking of working on a dozen songs or so and trying to find a club to let us play. We're not looking to get rich here, just want to have some fun. So I need some suggestions. What would be some good songs to learn for live performance?

Keep in mind they need to be songs that could work with a stripped down arrangement of just vocals, keyboard and bass and sound good being sung by a female singer with a huge (and very high) range. As much as I would love to play Rush and Zeppelin it might not work with this arrangement. I think we need to go more for the coffee house/jazz club kind of crowd.

So what do you think? Give me some ideas.
