Seemed a matter of time with King Richard selling majority interest last year to Boston Ventures followed by the subsequent downturn in the banking industry and the economy.

But then again, not having won a race since 1999 and not having a top-ranked driver in a car for like forever - sorry Kyle, but you were washed up long before you ever came back under the Petty banner, as was the Labonte move - it seemed that they had fallen farther and farther behind the upper echelon teams, a distance that was harder to make up the longer time went on.

sad, but what did they think would happen when you cant win one race in nine years!!

I would bet that a nine year drought would shut down any team!!!
