And you know all this how??? The video never really showed it running at a top speed. The guy did something different that most people on here could never do. But I guess everyone has an opinion right...

Just another project that someone did, who cares if it's expensive with terrible fuel mileage, RC really isn't about saving money

Did it ever occur to you he did it just to see if he could?

It's the same as my 6x6 E-Maxx, I didn't build it as a high-performance racecar, I just wanted something different.

I highly doubt that 5T would be that slow, it has no torque and may not get up to speed fast, but if those turbines can push 1/4 jets to upwards of 300mph, I see no reason for that truck to be slow as a snail, top speed wise.

I think you just have a problem with people's need to constantly tinker with stuff and make things in different ways. To each his own, Mopar's are gas hogs too And I don't complain about those, my roommate has a '68 RT Coronet tubbed out on 14" Mickey Thompson Wrinkles. Sombitch will pick the front wheels up.

I would guess I've got about $800-900 into it, and now that it's got a new ESC, 2 new motors, and LiPo power it RIPS. Stripped the 1st gearset idler in 2 places on it's 4th run

Used it as a motor tester for my college's BattleBot project, with a Novak Crawler BL and 1 LiPo pack I was pulling people in office chairs around the classroom.

A few years ago we hooked it to an old R/C pulling sled with a ~30lb boulder in the bucket. Clicked it into 1st gear, stood on the throttle, and it pulled the skidplate on the sled clear off the dirt for a good 40 feet.

It's no race winner and having it certainly isn't making me any money, but it's a ball to drive, puts on a helluva show, and gets a lot of people talking whenever I bring it out. It's a fun truck, a project that got out of hand, whatever. I'll sell all my other R/C cars & trucks before I'd even consider placing a price tag on the Silverado Slammer.
