Default How has RC changed your life?

good ideas happen at 3am

how has RC changed your life? is it just that craftsman and snap-on tools feel like toys in your hand or has it gone deeper than that?

I always wanted to sell my r/c stuff and get an old car to work on, but time money and space will not let me do that right now.

you asked for it. now you get it the life story, summarized as much as possible.

when i was young, my neighbor had a nitro RC. from that day on i wanted one.

for 7th grade, i went to a school about 45mins away. completely different people... halfway through 7th grade i started hangin with the druggies(ya they start young). started small; cigarets progressed to weed, weed to cocain, cocain to umm almost everything. by the end of 8th grade i was a train wreck! then my friend who ive know since preschool found out and convinced me to try to give up. well i found that if i was doing something else i wasnt doing drugs. so i started biking.....alot! about 20 miles a day! everyday!

then i came across a youtube vid one night that showed a nitro RC. sparked my memmory! so i started doin some research, bought a savage, hopped it up, and forgot about drugs. ya sometimes i take a drag of pot to shut up the "cmon ya pussy" but i just suck it into my mouth and blow it back out. never comes close to my lungs.

unfortunatly i get along with druggies and badasses better than normal people. normal people bore me

so in other words, RC has changed my life by saving my life!

there you have it. and thats the short version

dont ask for the long version

I lost my House, but luckily I have a three bedroom RC box.. Man are these 1/8th scale boxes big!

I lost my Truck.. But I just strap two buggies to my feet If I have to go anywhere far.

I lost my wife.. well I traded her for a new engine..

I never had kids. I tried borrowing some, but they were horrible in the pits.

I got a new starter box but i kept getting my hair caught in the wheel when I used it as a pillow.. traded it for a new set of tires.. much softer!

I still have my job though.. Sponsered by my paycheck..

Ofcourse, none of the above is true.. well except for the wife part....

Without RC, I wouldn't have the grasp of mechanics and electricity I have now. An electrical engineer that mentors my schools robotics team says I solder better than him! Heck, my dad used to be a technician for 11 years, and his specialty was soldering and wiring, and I solder better than him.

RC has provides a much needed stress release - when I'm out somewhere, even if its just the backyard, I manage to get away from all the stress and strain at work and get a much needed break. 45min with one of my RCs does wonders!!

OTHER THAN SUPPLYING US WITH A HOBBY AND SOMETHING TO DO WITH OUR SPARE TIME OTHER THAN TYPING AIMLESSLY ON THE INTERNET, I FAIL TO SEE ANY POSITIVE INFLUENCE UNLESS YOU'RE ONE OF THE RARE FEW THAT GET PAID OR CONSIDER THAT HAVING LESS OF A SHOT WITH CHICKS IS A GOOD THING (HONESTLY, HOW MANY OF YOU CAN SAY THAT WHEN YOU MENTION TO YOUR NEW GIRL THAT YOU RACE TOY CARS THAT SHE DOESN'T RUN OFF LAUGHING).
