Default Garmin GPS vehicles.....

So...my wife signs me up for a Discover card to use for my business stuff (A Main Purchases )

Well, the real reason she did it as they had this free Garmin 200 GPS offer. So the GPS shows up today, not much different than her TomTom One it is replacing (and I will get for my car)

I'm looking around the Garmin pages, and look what you can change the default car from?

And no, she won't give it to me....

That's pretty cool. A friend of mine (and RC racer) just got a Garmin. I need to call him up and see if his has it.

I have a nuvi 250 with a bunch of vehicles from the Garmin Garage on it; the RC truck, some sports cars, a semi-tractor, a bicycle, a tow truck, an offroad chase truck, a Hearse, all kindsa goofy stuff.

I've got a couple of airplanes too, which made for a funny experiment when I went to California for RCX. See, there's a little dashboard you can pull up that shows your speed, compass direction, average speed, time you've spent moving, time you've spent stopped, etc. etc...and top speed

After taking off from Milwaukee I got my GPS up to 247mph before the signal cut out over Lake Michigan. Gets a lot of funny looks from people who know I drive a '98 Chevy S10 with the 2.2L 4-banger under the hood

How long to the battery on those iThings last for? My Nokia chews through them when using the GPS and MP3 player and such.

I'd be lucky if I could go 2 days without charging it.

Cheers

Goes through them pretty fast..I want to say 6 hours or so..car charger or you can plug it into a usb and it charges..its more of a mini laptop than cell phone..Only downside I could see with it is AT&T..worst customer service..well not the worst..that's sprints claim to fame..

Really? damn... I reckon, I could sacrifice another 50grams and a bit bigger phone if it meant doubling my battery life... I'd rather not have a phone be unreliable and have it a bit bigger in size.

I've a Nokia N95. The phone itself has been shocking. Constant lockups/freezes, software errors.

Meh sorry to get off topic.

Oh and don't worry, we have our own corporate phone nazis in australia... Say hello to Optus and Telstra.

But you hardly have any other choice...

I had the N75..WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER HAD..bar none..The iPhone..best phone I have ever had..No need for a GPS system..You can get apps for turn by turn navigation, car finder..etc..It comes with map quest already installed and if thats not enough you can text your friends with a map to your location..Im shocked anyone would even have a use for a navigation system like a tom tom, nowadays with almost all the upper end phones coming with a navigation program already installed.
