The U.N. wants a certain percentage of U.S. GDP to combat global warming, but they'd never dare to ask the same thing from communist China, which happens to be the most anti-green country in the world right now. While they're trying to extort vast sums of money from American tax payers, they have no problem with China raping Africa's environment. The U.N. doesn't want to limit how much energy American citizens use because they want to protect the environment. It's all about knocking the U.S. down a peg or two. The U.N. just sees the global warming hoax as a means to an end and there are millions of useful idiots who have already fallen for it.

P.S.. Is it just me or do oxynary and downtempo need to get a room? Maybe they could do the environment a favor and kill themselves after they're finished. They could at least quit surfing chat forums since internet servers use lots of energy.
You can't blame some of these people, they have been indoctrinated since youth.

There isn't any scientific evidence EITHER way about the existance of God.

We don't know and cannot even begin to fully understand the way the Earth works.

Millions believe that God created it.

We offer proofs and theorems to logically analyze the legitamacy of mathematical theory, whole civilizations revolve around it.

Even if enviromental theories are just a probability, do we not owe it to our future generations to not take the risk? Why would we roll the dice, no matter how small the risk, on human existance?

If we can have faith about the things that many take for granted, why not invest in behavior that would ultimately help mankind... even if it only means healthier air and the possibility for our country to cash in on the "green" trend. Our country certainly needs some way to get back in the competitive global market.

Global warming will end due to the fact that everything that is causing it, will be too expensive in the next 50 years. Truth of the matter is that in 50 years no one will use gasoline powered anything because electricity will be cheaper.

goes without saying.

hey, you know cows contribute to global warming? and methane is 20 times more potent than CO2? well, a pilot light on every cow's arse would cut the carbon emissions of cows by over 75%! and make fields at night look pretty...

The problem is there are not enough people willing to adapt solar and wind. Once gas and coal goes through the roof it will happen.

And the UK is on top of it too. They are aiming for 50% wind powered by 2020.

I didn't bring up GOD and to think that we as humans have this type of power to destroy the earth...I just don't believe it.
I'm not saying pollute and don't give a care about the earth. All I'm saying is there have been similar threats to human kind. In the 60's it was all about the globe entering another ice age. What ever happened to the threat of the hole in the ozone layer?
Look, I don't think there is scientific proof either way that we are suffering from global warming or we are not. No where in this report does it cover sun spots, or the cycle of our sun.
Once again let me reinerate, in no way am I supporting polluting the earth. But come on why is it always Americans fault for the rest of the world. We cannot even open a clean coal plant in this country but China can open three coal plants a month and it's the USA's fault.
We aren't as stupid as the world believes. Did you know that the two most clean coal operations in the world are in Wisconsin? Does anybody care that the USA works harder then any other country to be "Green".
There are so many misinformation campains from coal to light bulbs.

I know people are scared about the environment. I know that there is a reason to be vigalent, but come on people, do we really need the government to be telling us what light bulbs we need to use. Do we need the government telling us what percentage of our power needs to come from wind and solar?

On that note you know that wind isn't enviornmentally friendly? Where do you think windmills work the best? The same seasonal wind paths that migratory birds follow......

I hope you're happy. You just ruined a great thread by applying common sense to the problem.

Somebody please start another sky is falling thread ASAP so we can get back to having some fun.

They fly around them then. Or you apply Darwin's theory. And yes I do care about animals cause I don't eat them.

I think that is the funniest argument against wind power since the argument here on Long Island against them was "they are ugly".

Fly around them...I thought we weren't supposed to mess with mother nature? I thought humans were causing global warming? So now to fight global warming we are supposed to alter a flight path that birds have been taking for thousands of years?
