I think OPEC meets in early Dec and I look for them to cut production a bunch to try and run prices back up. The ques is whether anybody besides Iran, Venezuela and some of the other US haters will actually cut production.

Saudi has a huge US portfolio and I can not imagine what kind of paper losses they've had. OPEC just wouldn't listen to reason and now it looks like we are going to have a nice little world wide recession. Who knows how bad its going to get, piled on top of all the credit stupidity?

If crude price slides a bunch, I'll be having a lot of free time - I'm a tech consultant working in O&G industry. The consultants are always the 1st to go.

At least hope its after Xmas.......

I will bet you a pair of each person's favorite tires (RC) that El Paso won't see 1.75 before Thanksgiving.

Chevron or some equalivalence, not off your base.

2.37 today in San Antonio.
Think I will go and buy me a Hummer

NOT!!!
Right now, my opis {oil pricing information service } report ,says national average should go to 2.65 a gallon.
There are 3 things that helped.
People have actually started driving less, the government easing restrictions on the summer blends, and the last 3 refineries that blew up are producing gas again.
Once oil drops below 80 dollars a barrel, it has a lot less to do with the price of gas than you might think.

99.9 pence a litre here in the UK... Never thought I would see it go back to under a pound a litre!
