funny. like the little hay bails.
My first rc wasn't really even rc. It was a Cox glow fuel dragster. You had to spin the wheels to start it. There was no clutch or anything. It ran along a stretched out cable and you ran it wide open with the wheels off the ground and dropped it when you were ready. There was a bead at the end of the cable that would shut the throttle off and a wood block a little further down to stop the car. That was nearly 40 years ago.

My first rc, rc, was an associated rc10L pan car. Still have it.

age 6: tyco adventure jeep. Turn in reverse, push the button to go.
age 10: tamiya blackfoot. put the pinion screw in backwards by hand and ran it for a year.
age 11: tamiya clod buster. f'ing awesome.
age 12: Traxxas Blue Eagle, kyosho optima, pan car and best: New Blackfoot, moded with robinson racing belt tranny, swing arms, real shocks, dual servo steering, the works. Pure addiction from the start.

My first hobby grade R/C was a traxxas Nitro sport with the trx .15 and the purple body, got it for christmas in 2001.

It was the replacement for my Tyco "Hammer" truck.

I had a Tamiya Frog that I considered my first 'real' car as I had to build it. I actually remember racing this at some hobby shop outdoor track in the parking lot.

I moved to the RC10 when it came out in 84 or so...
