I guess I'll just have to wait till the ending to get that feeling. My wife and I are just a little under half way through, and we're still just as confused as we were when Halo 2 ended.

So I guess we'll just have to keep on shooting till we find all the answers!

I may try the online thing at some point, but I'm new...REALLY new....to XboxLive. I just got my 360 about 1 day before Halo 3 came out, and I never did Live on my Xbox. I'm still trying to figure out what and how all this XBL stuff works.

Well, the wife and I just finished HALO 3. And well, all I can say about the ending is that it was 'something'.

Wasn't exactly the trilogy closing answers I was looking for. More like the end of Final Fantasy X. Where there were answers...and there was an ending...but...

...well I just let you see for yourselves. I'll just say I wanted more blunt...spell it out...answers.

BTW: make sure you don't turn it off before the credits finish rolling.

It's a bit confusing at first, but you'll get it eventually.

My son was watching all the Halo videos on Gamespot over the past few days and he kept on asking if we could get it (as expected), so I picked it up last night without telling him. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him I bought it. We were just sitting around eating watermelon and I said in an off-handed way, "I just wanted to let you know, I already bought Halo 3". You should have seen the look on his face - it was classic. He started scanning around the living room as if I said I saw a giant cockroach! When I told him it was sitting next to the printer by the computer, he darted over there so fast, I thought he was going to trip over his own feet! Needless to say, he was very, very happy.

The game itself is gorgeous. Comparing the graphics between Halo 2 and 3 is like night and day. The AI is much better as well. And the multiplayer maps? Just totally awesome! Definitely worth the $52.00 (5 sets of foam tires ).

My son has already enlisted my help in defeating the Covenant, so it looks like I'll be playing Halo for the next few days.

I can't do that, this thread is probably a spoiler free zone.

If you really want to know, just go to YouTube and put in "Halo 3 ending". And make sure you pick one that is for the Legendary ending, as that one has all the goods.

No kidding. Those enemies not only do the right thing, in the right situations, but they even communicate with each other about what they're going to do.

And don't even get me started on their aim. Those guys could shoot a tick off a dogs butt at 100 yards, in high wind, AND dense fog!!!

Too bad Bungie couldn't have saved some of that smarts for the AI troops who drive the vehicles while your riding. One time, while my wife was on a warthog, the driver just kept driving in circles...it was the funniest crap I've ever seen.
