Default Charging 3.0V Li-ion battieries with Duratax Ice.

I just bought some 3.0V 1000mah li-ion batteries to make RX packs for my on-road cars (1/12 and 1/10 electric). I thought maybe my ICE charger would charge the batteries, but it will only do 3.6V and 3.7V lithiums type cells.

Could I use a 2.5ohm 1watt resistor to drop the voltage to the battery on 500mA charge rate. I don't want to damage the cells, and they do have overcurrent protection, but not over voltage.
