ducted fan knowledge needed

Hi Group!
I'm totally new to the world of RC Hobby, although I like the field, and want to learn more about it, I joined today to see if I could get some info for another project I've been working on, it will contain a ducted fan, and thats what I need some tech learning in.
First off, I'm working on a project concerning alternative energy production, to complicated to be going into its machinations at this time, but it will be possibly useing a brushless ducted fan, possibly a Himax 5400 Ha2015 which my local hobby shop carries.
I know nothing about the thrust, power drain, possible time limits of continuous running, or need for a controller.
So if anyone can help on this, I would deeply appreciate it.
First, although I don't need a long runtime, would I be able to run this motor on a regular nine volt battery?
Second, would I need to use a controller, or can I just run it straight out?
Third, how long could I run this motor without it burning out from heat, etc...?
Fourth, the thrust doesn't need to be great, but could someone tell me as an example, what size ball would the exhaust be able to push across a floor at a constant foot away, meaning would it push a baseball, basketball, or possibly just a tennis ball?
Appreciate any help that I can get on this.
