STARTER BOX LIPO CONVERSION
#1

Hi all,
Since my 12v gel cell bat seems to not be holding a charge anymore — I’m wanting to convert my starter box that I use for on-road to use of a 4s lipo and I’m wanting to set it up exactly like I’ve done my off-road box. But, I’m unsure if it can be done since there appears to be more negative terminals on the on-road 550 motors. I don’t think the the red marking for positive terminals have worn off / or came off from a wipe clean… I hope someone can confirm this? & hence the yellow “fixed” wire if u will is there it’s making me think that I can not do the conversion.
I need instruction on what to do.
I also will want to do a power-switch delete on the box aswell just like the off-road box

So these 550 motors are ok to use with a 14.8v lipo correct? I just wanna make sure the power of the lipo wont blow out these motors?

Can someone tell me what the yellow wire means?

Okaayy — why do these 550 motors specify “12v” where as the 775 motors do not? I’m wondering if these motors are not capable of handling 14.8 volts of lipo ‘cause I’ve tried putting different wiring on these motors in the past before and plugging in a 14.8 to it and sparks went flying everywhere when I hit the trigger!!! Being frightened that the battery might blow up I’m lucky I didn’t short out the lipo

youll be fine. now is a 12v gel just 12 volts nope its like 14.4. sparks go flying with a 12 v with the slots in a brushed motor

Ok well if u say so I will try it…
& I’m talking sparks flew OUT with-in almost a foot parameter like someone was welding something lol…

Forget connectors, just solder all the wires
