Why is asphalt tracks and onroads tracks in general so sparse in the USA? Or maybe just the north east? Are there hidden tracks that I donít know about

Because people used to Travel more for Nationals and such. Yet once Carpet took over... that was it, no one wants to run asphalt that much anymore. I Germany and Italy I am always able to find a Asphalt 1:8IC track in the vicinity. Its sad, I wish there were more, but our breed is slowly fading out.

nothing imo tops asphalt nitro . Sedan or 1/8th as far as realism and precision. For every asphalt track there are 5 offroad (carpet or dirt) tracks

Actually, how much is it to lay down asphalt/tarmac? Serious question. Would it be any cheaper to pour out some concrete/cement? I'm sure driveway contractors do it all the time.....

Rough estimate is between $7-13 per square foot.

But first have to own the land

I thought many parkplaces are used to race?
But yet, it comes to people who wants to organize that.

Texas, California, Ohio, some others out there.

Couple tracks in New Jersey, Jackson RC, mostly electric but they have run nitro in the past (IMO too small for nitro) (and they had their last race of the season yesterday), and there's another track a little further south where they're trying to get nitro going.

RC Madness has an outdoor on road track though not as popular as their off road tracks. And there's a track in Waterbury (?) that has a small on road asphalt track.

Labor Day weekend is not the time to start looking for outdoor tracks

im speaking in general terms. Iíve frequented Jackson and Wagner. Everywhere else is 10 hours +. Just confused as to the ratio of offroad vs onroad even with carpet tracks.

Wagner, thanks, I couldn't remember the name

Off road is just more popular than on road. If I were to speculate, because you can run an off road car on the street. Can't really do that with an on road car, even a touring car.

LiveRC tracks weekly stats. Itís about 4-1 off road vs on road. Itís been as high as 7-1 some weeks

Thereís a few thread on why on road is less popular

I am with you Illmatic! I have been eyeing an abandond parking lot of the City, that is fenced in! Only problem now are the noise restrictions! Its a nice lot and would be perfect after a fresh resurface and marking. But I think sadly, Nitro will not be welcome there.

The bad thing I have seen is that Established Tracks in Europe are slowly being encroached upon by developers, and many have had greater noise restrictions placed upon them...
