Default No international OR domestic shipping options from Hobbyking??

Has anybody else ever had this happen to them?

Hobbyking has been having some interesting sales recently and I was going to pick up a little rtr 1/18 short course truck. I was told I can't have it shipped from Hong Kong because of the nimh battery the package contains. That I can understand...

I removed that from my cart and added the Turnigy TD10 V2 (a rebranded 3Racing XI sport). It was shipping from the US warehouse in Oregon. I live in New York. The site said there were no shipping options to send the package to me (unless I wanted to pick it up at the warehouse in Oregon).

HOW IN THE WORLD CAN THERE BE NO OPTIONS TO SHIP A PACKAGE FROM OR TO NY???

We're not talking about an excessive amount of items; it's one car. I've ordered larger vehicles from them before with no problems. There are no hazardous items like batteries included. It's the holiday season, and millions (if not billions) of other packages are being shipped all over the country using USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc.

What is going on???

Why asking here and not asking them?
HK is the one who knows best.

I already asked them basically they told me in the international warehouse for you to take advantage of the free shipping promotion you need at least 150 dollars worth of items in the shopping cart and the problem with the td10 v2 and i know because i try buying one and the same thing happen to me, they told me that they dont have a carrier for it.

I too asked them about the shipping and was told there are no carriers available. How it's possible that no carriers are available to take a package from Oregon to New York is beyond me... Especially during the holiday season, and especially because they are an INTERNET-BASED STORE RELIANT ON SHIPPING PACKAGES.

The amazing thing is that all of those items are available for sale on eBay, by HobbyKing, WITH shipping.

How does that make any sense?

I was on their site a week and a half ago and no matter what I added to my shopping cart shipping was free. I even added $2,000 worth of batteries and still free shipping.

In a test, I tried to add the Turnigy to my cart again. Sure enough, no shipping options from Oregon. Then I though I'd try to add another car kit from the Oregon warehouse. I added a Tamiya TA06 kit to my cart (price: $234.44). There was no problem shipping it; free shipping through Fed Ex and $37 shipping through USPS.

So what is it about the Turnigy? Even if the free shipping is only offered on $150 or more, why is there not even an option for paying for shipping through USPS??

It still irks me and I find it ridiculous.

Because USPS is in the US not overseas!

Perhaps contact them as stated and figure if its an issue with their setup!

Yes, but the car is shipping from the Oregon warehouse. As I stated earlier, I have contacted them and was told that there were no carriers available from the Oregon warehouse to New York. Last I checked, they're both squarely within the jurisdiction of the USPS.

Well perhaps then, they are out of stock at that location, and / or can not arrange for shipping at this time! Because all carriers are overbooked?

The website says it is in stock at that warehouse, allows me to add it to my cart, and lists in-warehouse pickup as an option. It makes no sense for carriers to be overbooked, as there are shipping options for other products of similar size and weight (the point of my original post this evening).

If the explanations were so simple, I wouldn't be so vexed.

Does the same to me when I try to buy it. No shipping options available just pickup. And their website is slower than molasses in January right now.

Add something else in your cart, I added a spare belt and it shows shipping options now.

Good call, slick. Just the addition of another item finally showed shipping options. Free shipping through Fed Ex was even there. There's probably some flaw with the way the item is programmed in their computers that prevents the shipping from showing up on the item alone.
