One thing I just realised was that the TT02 apparently still comes with fixed steering links, (and suspension upper links), which means you won't be able to compensate for small problems as they occur (say the car pulls one side or the other, stuff like that). I think this was one of the stronger reasons I never got into these. By the time you upgrade the shocks and the links, I think you'll be close if not over the price of the Yokomo plus one diff (or a TB car).

Didn't realize it was listed as 198mm wide either, especially since it is based on the SSG model from 2003(ish), which was a 190mm Touring Car. So while probably possible, fixing that would drive the price up again - unless you maybe have the parts already in your buckloads . Still leaves the gear diff issue unsolved though.
Cheers Dirk - yes, gear diff is a must-have...

Ha damn, landed cost of TT02S is $200-ish, again... it's the TT02R that I can get cheaper here...

still have a few months to sort it out till outdoors racing season starts again but I'd like to build it with him this winter.

We shall see... Thanks all for the help and the very useful pointers

Chat lounge? WTF? this is where old threads go to die... It would have died by itself in the onroad section anyway. Now this is just humiliating on top of not providing any input... This isn't the rctech I used to know

In case anyone gives a crap anymore in the chat lounge, I've ordered a TT02S as rcmart is running a decent promo on it... cheers all for the input.
