Default New Off-Road Facility in Boonville NC

Panoramic

Hey guys,

Just got some news that will fair well for the Charlotte crowd that are hurting for some off-road tracks. This track is located in Boonville NC right in town. The owner has a restaurant called Mid-Town grill and the bacon Cheeseburger is off the chain might I add lol. The track is smaller than average but still will host 1/8 scale Buggies easily. A new drivers stand has just been completed and the track is ready to run on. This Saturday 4/27 will be their first test and tune day. The owner told me yesterday that they wanted to just get a gauge of interest but you can tell that they have already spent a good amount of money on it. If it goes well they will go with a scoring system and a hobbyshop on site isnít out of the question down the road. I will post info as I get it. The track is an hour and a half or less to Charlotte, less than an hour to Winston Salem and 1 45 to Boone. See pics.

Looks great. Thanks for posting. There are a few tracks that are all approximately 2 hours from my home in S. Charlotte. I'll definitely drop in this summer/spring. They have a facebook page or website up yet? Increase visibility!

I heard that from a buddy of mine that stopped in there a few weeks ago We had a Mini-Z race there years ago in the empty space next door.
Where can I find information about a race schedule and rules? I'm in Winston, so less than an hour from me.

Thanks!

Jack the owner is trying to get it going. I haven't been by in a while to confirm where they are at. They typically put them on the Mooresville Hobbytown Facebook page,. I was supposed to help get the timing system going, but I've been busy with other races and tracks so I haven't been back yet. It's the smaller track option so heats would probably be 3-4 drivers with I laps timing.

Thanks! I liked their Facebook page and sent a message to find out. I've been driving to Smithfield, NC and Richmond, VA to race, which involves an overnight stay. Would love to have somewhere closer to home that would only be a few hour commitment, than a 24 hour deal...

I know they are renting track time already. I called and confirmed with them. They are renting cars to run as well. Basically as long as they are open the track is open. Nothing has been posted on races yet.
