That is a lot of stuff to haul to the track but there will likely be people in attendance that are looking for ways to get involved.

Sorry for the long delay with the results. I fell into a trap that I shouldn't have and it caused some unnecessary distractions. Word of advice that I failed to follow. "Don't pick the low hanging fruit".

It seems that the interest in VTA oval is larger than initially thought. We had ten cars separated into two heats with the first heat going to Paul R.(69L) with Andy M(68L) and Sammy S.(66L) rounding out the top three. Lap times are comparable with the late models with a 6.355 By Andy M. The second heat went to Joey S. with Vic C. and newcomer Nathan M rounding out the top three. It looked like it was going to go to the rookie but a late race encounter with the boards got him into those old "I have to make up that lost time" jitters which of course always leads to additional drama. By the second round we lost our rookies to the demands of family members in attendance for promised sustenance so they called it a day. We ran a single heat for the second round with exactly the same results as the first. The main started out as a real scrap between Andy M. and Paul R. which continued for nearly six minutes of the eight minute main but once again the boards called out for sacrifice but this time it was Paul R from the lead that was the victim. A broken "C" hub ended his day with the win going to Andy M. with 72 laps and a best time of 6.340. Kohn R held steady throughout the run for second and Vic C. rounded out the podium. I had figured that the chaos of intense door to door competition would have wrought more havoc on the entrants than it did. I don't think we need a steady diet of it but we might just throw the oval in say every third event if for nothing more than the novelty of it not to mention the enjoyment. We may even entertain the possibility of creating a VTA tub class for the oval to reduce the possibility damaging someone's high dollar exotic VTA chassis on a lark.

In the late models it was an all Todd W. day. In the first heat it was Todd, Andy M and myself. In the second heat it was Todd, myself and Andy and the main went to Todd as well with Andy M. and Big Sam S. rounding it out.

The CHR/MOD was run on the road course as usual. The day was pretty much a scrap between Paul R. and Bevin M. with Bevin taking both the heats and Paul taking the main. Both Paul and Bevin cracked the 20 lap mark in a closely fought second heat that had them at 8:23.412 and 8:23.653 at the horn. Good work guys. John R got third in the first heat and the "Cheeseburger grabbed it in the other heat. The Main went to Paul R. with John R. grabbing second after Bevin had an issue that took him off track for a quick repair. I almost forgot to mention that Paul managed to pull out a lap of 23.773 for a new outright lap record. Great work Paul.

We had our first encounter with weather this time when a pop up shower hit and delayed the start of the mains. The track dried in less than 20minutes without any mechanical assistance so the heat of the day that again raised track temperatures into the 140* range put itself to good use and we managed to all be out of there by 4:00PM which is always our target for completion.

Remember people. Instead of lighting up social media with complaints of being excluded, bring it out (if it's on road) we will find a place to fit you in because we want everybody to race at KRP.

See everybody in a couple of weeks.

I think the TT02 chassis would make a great oval care for VTA. Cheap, parts everywhere, easy to repair..

Nathan and I had a blast on Saturday (even if my rental transponder failed during my race). I love the idea of a vta tub class. I think our v100 models would be great for that. We broke way more stuff on the road course than the oval.

I had a great time running vta on oval. However, I would have no interest in running a tub chassis. I have newer cars, but I ran my old “beater” xray t3 on the oval. Keep it open chassis. Learning to slow down for corners and navigate traffic are the equalizers in this class, not the chassis.

I'd have no problem with an open chassis oval class.

Basically just throwing it out there as an entry level possibility. I don't think anyone had any trouble with how it went and "C" hubs are pretty consumable on most touring cars. Lord knows I have consumed my fair share.

Make sure you have it available at the next event.

Speaking of which, the approaching storm may have an impact on whether or not the weather creates a problem for us on the 15th.

Stay tuned.

I'm sure that by now everyone has guessed that there won't be any racing this weekend. Vic an I will be over at the track tomorrow afternoon and probably on Friday taking down canopies and banners and stowing them away in anticipation of the pending storm. Hopefully a little pre preparation for this storm event will lessen the impact for all of us.

Everybody be safe.

Track is now buttoned up as tight as we can make it. Time will tell. Thanks to those that stopped by to help. It made it go much quicker.

Finally got some time to go by the track today. It was a bit nerve wracking driving down the street to the park. Although the neighborhood looked pretty good there was no way to tell about the track until we got to the gate. I can happily state the she took it like the cheerleader that made a promise to the team if they won. We lost some of the banners but none of our advertisers. Drivers stand still has shade and the timing and scoring area is ready for us to put the canopy back up. We have a lot of leaves to blow off but fortunately the bulk of them are all down in the back corner at the head of the back stretch. We will be ready to go on the 29th. See everybody then.

Vic and I were able to get the canopy back up and some house keeping done this morning. We are in shape for the weekend with just a normal blow off and go. Now all we want is for a slight improvement in the weather forecast. 60% chance of afternoon thunderstorms is workable but we have to remember its Charlotte race weekend so anything can and usually does happen. Everybody put in a good word with the weather gods at least through Saturday. I would kind of like to see the rain tires used on the "Roval".
