I should be there Saturday!

First I want to say thanks for getting this setup it's a great little track. One tech question is we are running 7.4v lipos not graphene 7.6 lipos?

If I'm able to get there early enough I'll have my full Hudy setup station setup for use on a separate table.

Rules for the classes competing on the 20th will be USGT/VTA/F-1 so that would be 7.4V 2S hard cased 6000MAH max on batteries. We will try to have the track clean and ready for cars by 10 with first race not later than 11:30 so we can wind it up by 4.

Thanks for the kind comments and we will be looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Per the US Vintage Trans Am rules, only VTA is limited to 6000mah. Most shorties used in F1 aren't capable of 6000mah, but the USGT battery rules don't have a max mah limit.

No need to "do better". I was just wanting to clarify. How does the saying go? "Many hands make light work". I'm sorry that I haven't been there to lend a hand yet.

We will be back out there this morning getting things tidied up and prepared for Saturday. Hope you and Mark can make it over.

Just a reminder to everyone. We are going old school self contained racing. NO ONSIGHT ELECTRICITY YET!!! Make sure you have your DC chargers with you. Also, we don't have a card reader yet so no credit or debit cards. Do plan accordingly.

We will be open probably by 10 so we can have everything ready. We want to be able to give at least an hour of track time prior to the green flag. Racing from 11-4 plus or minus. The FB time is more for spectators. I hate that I may have to find a good enough pair of boots so I might wade into the cesspool of social media.

Did you check your email? I sent you one but now have forgotten the reason.

Glad I came back as I thought gates open at 11 meant racing would start after practice. Obtaining kitchen pass...

Thanks for checking back. We mentioned in a post way back up the line that Social media would be for the more social side of things while this forum would be the actual what, when and where side of it.

We will be at the track not later than 9:30 on Saturday and hope to have the track open by 10 with the green flag as close to 11 as we can get it. With a greenhorn on the timing system(me) I want as big a margin as I can build into the day.

As I mentioned earlier we were working on the facility and we got half of the list completed with two more days to work before Saturday. We did make a small change to the turn at the end of the back straight. We cut it at a 45* angle to give just a tad more oops room. We also got a pipe installed across the back of the 4 dot infield sweeper. This will seem different to the guys that have run laps since it wasn't in position for the Grand opening. We call it the dog house. Also got the bridge painted and erected. It is nearly invisible in flat black paint so it blends nicely with the racing surface. We managed to acquire 7 really nice barrels for trash cans so please make sure to use them.

Here are some photo's of today's efforts. Remarkably all of them loaded so enjoy.

Just want to clarify what I will need to bring on Sat. as far as pitting goes. I am prepared to bring a table/chair and a generator. Unfortunately it is just a regular 4000W generator and not one of those fancy quiet ones. Is that going to be acceptable?

Shouldn't be a problem. I assume then that you will want to pit inside the fence with the generator sort of over by the tree's so the noise isn't deafening? There will likely be several APU's there with varying noise levels. Hopefully we won't have to deal with this very long. If everything goes as planned the next step will be to pull power to the fence and install 4 plex boxes on every pole from the head of the back straight to the gate and from the gate all across the driver's stand side. Anybody know a good electrician that races RC cars that would like to give away some labor in exchange for a sign on the fence?

It doesn't matter where I pit. I can pit in the parking area and put my generator as far away as possible. No big deal. I was just wondering what your expectations were. I should be able to feed multiple people from my generator as well. Just bring some drop cords.

Since we will be operating sans PA system, proximity to the hard surface could be important. Additionally there were some less than hard packed areas due to the last precipitation and what with the expected weather drama tomorrow it may not have enough time to thoroughly dry out by Saturday. The soggiest area is right around the gate so we will pick up some gravel today and spread it in at least that spot to improve ingress and egress. Pit spaces inside the fence will be on a first come basis without additional cost while they last. If everybody stays reasonably compact there should be room for maybe a dozen spots on the gate side and nearly as many past the drivers stand on that side. Registration and timing will be in the same location as we had the canopy set up for the open house.

If there are any additional questions or information needed lets get it out here so we can minimize race day surprises.

Thanks everybody for the support and stay tuned.

Just came in from the track. Ran the conduit and cables for the timing system with weather proof boxes on either end for protection of the cable. Also did some ground marking on the hairpin end of the back straight to keep spectators back far enough so as not to block a drivers approach to the turn. Hopefully people will recognize the bold blue and orange paint and lettering and realize that it means them as well as everybody else. We will see how it goes. Friday we will do a final clean up so all we will have to do is set up shop on Saturday morning. We are also getting a tutorial on how to get the water turned on so the restroom will be available. Don't let me forget to bring a roll of TT.
