We did make it out to the track this morning and got one of the bulletin boards mounted to the back of the drivers stand sort of like it is at our sister track in Easley. At 13* we didn't stay long.

I am happy to relay that all of last weeks painting and gluing had time to dry and cure so now we can count that task as completed. Dots should be here today so tomorrow they will be in place.

The video is going up this morning over on social media. Check it out and see what you think from the car's perspective.

Before we get into building pit tables for the area inside the fence I would like to know what the preferences are. Bar top height so you have to have a stool or stand up, or table top height so you can comfortably sit while working. This is a ways out but I am trying to make plans. Since no stools or chairs will be provided I guess I am asking which is easier to carry a stool or chair?

For me, I prefer chair height.

My sentiments exactly. Not to mention a more stable platform. I haven't been comfortable on a bar stool since I was in my 30"s.

Dots arrived late yesterday. Very nicely made. Don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't white. Will pick up some Krylon today and get them painted here and then install them.

Hey Cort! Glad to see you found it. Wife said you called and that she gave you the forum info. Will we see you on Saturday? If you aren't working stop by the house after lunch time and I will put a paint brush in your hand and go over everything we will be doing at the track.

Headed out shortly for some paint and then some lunch and back.

Call or come by around 2.

Made it over to the track a little while ago to install the dots. Well, it didn't happen. So far we have been able to drive a sheetrock screw into the asphalt with just an impact driver. Not today. If the screw did get a bite it snapped off just below the head. For the immediate future we will just place them in the needed locations and get screws through them as soon as this weather pattern releases it's death grip on the area. Next week should have some temps in the 50's so we should have them ready for the official opening date of the 20th.

If we had any sense we would push everything back but the local newspaper wants to cover the opening this weekend. Publicity helps so we are going forward with it since they might not be available if we postpone.

Bundle up and be there.

Spent several hours at the track today in preparation for tomorrows soft opening. The biggest part of the time was spent with a blower pushing the accumulated leaf litter and dirt off the track. Surprisingly enough I had to remove my outer jacket because it was getting way warner than I would have thought. In the morning before everything is scheduled to begin we will finish clearing the track and maybe build a small debris fire(winds permitting) so the leaves don't wind up back on the track. Who knows, we may be able to add a few sticks to increase the "cheer" factor. Or maybe we won't. If it turns out as nice as it was today everybody will have a good time.

We also picked up the necessary materials to build a first rate scoring bridge. Meeting with the welder later this afternoon to finalize the design. There will be no timed laps tomorrow.

See everybody at 11.
