Updated.

Thought I would post an update since the club up north has already started their season.

Default Looking forward to this!

The funnest least amount of seriousness race I've been to. IMO the way RC racing should be. This helps too:

What hotel close to the track do you guys think is the best bang for your buck? Looking to stay on the cheaper side of things.

I recommend 3 options:

Closest to the track about 5 minutes away about $130/night: The Glenmore Inn
The Glenmore Inn & Convention Centre - Official Site

Newer hotel, 5 minutes from Deerfoot/Country Hills coming into the city from Edmonton and free breakfast about $110/night, about 20 minutes from the track: Best Western Premier Freeport Inn
https://www.expedia.ca/Calgary-Hotel...CAD&exp_pg=HSR

Expedia the 3rd option and you see lots of sub $100 options.

Hope that helps!

That depends. Including me there's 5 other guys that 'can' run it. I'll try to convince them in the next 2 weeks.

Edmonton has a couple guys that 'can' run it.

On your end Kyle has run it and see if you can convince Lanzer and Beck to give it a go.

I think the hardest part is to convince guys that normally run 2 or 3 classes to add an extra class and that class being the fastest and hardest to control. Personally I think it's a super fun class with my car on the brink of flying off the track every lap!

I don't judge but I hope you ain't planning to do boosted 13.5 are you? Bring it out anyways. It's not like it's taking that much room for you to pack it. See you in a couple of weeks!

Ivan

ps. you gonna try your M07?

I'll be trying 12th stock, but definitely not 12th mod. My experience with 12th is very limited, my spare parts are few, and I'm not sure if my electronics could handle it.

12 Mod was dangerously close to being removed as a class for the last couple of years because of lack of interest in Western Canada.

ATS was created to run what the 2 clubs in the province run on club nights. WGT and 12 Mod are not run at a club level thus we never have included them in the past. However, we can run whatever guys want to run. If 5 guys show up with 12 Mod cars we can run them.

And once again we will have Larry “The Voice” as RD. He will be calling the action, running the show, and penalizing Ivan with every hack.

To be fair, on black carpet the 1/12 modified cars are markably easier to drive. Hopefully the class picks up again now that the cars aren't wheel spinning so bad.

Double Mains are not fun IMO. You never know what place you finished until you see the results.

During the drivers meeting we can decided what the racers want. Some guys don’t like a late night drive home up the highway and like to be done early.
