Default Complete Noob Needs Help With Nitro RC

Hey I've never owned an rc before and wanted to see what it's like. A friend had this nitro rc in his basement someone gave him. He was told it runs great. It did not have a remote or the part that is on the car that is with the remote. I know very little about them but I am willing to learn I believe I have a VH L1 because that is on the body and they small servo moter says Victory Hawk on it . If someone could help me identify the model, size ratio and a few parts I'll need to get it going (radio and receiver) and maybe anyone in the orillia Ontario area that could point me in a good hobby shop

jeez I used to live at 401 west street north in Orillia. Anyways, youd probably be best to post a picture. As far as shops, google rc in the area, probably barrie is your best bet. Also, nitro is pretty complicated, you might want to start with an electric car but if you are hell bent I'm sure someone can help you with the nitro

Thumbs down

Sadly I do not own a computer lol I do have a smartphone and other ways of using Internet so I can't post a pic from my phone onto this site sorry.but thank you for a fast reply. I know nitro is difficult but I learn quick and I do have that rare common sense. And I'm not afraid to ask a million questions.

That site was a lot of help but now my only problem is parts I can't really find anyone that sells 1/10 victory hawk parts will most parts for a 1/10 racing truck fit with little or no custom work to make it fit... I noticed he has cut a few parts to fit I don't know if he was cheap or couldn't find anything for this rc any help?

Yes I think you may find it difficult to find parts. Not really sure what you want to do with it but I will say this if you really want to get into rc this vehicle may not be your best choice. I don't really know much about this car and don't want to offend but this is probably towards the lower end of the quality scale. But that doesn't mean you can't try to get it going but I would hate to see you get discouraged out of the hobby because of a vehicle of this quality.
