Unhappy RIP Nick Kinar

Nick Kinar passed away last night (05/12/16). A lot of you know him from competing in many of the WCIC races all over western Canada.

He won the CTA championship a few years ago and was really getting into 12th scale. He was a team mate of mine on Serpent USA and a fierce competitor. He was always quick to offer up a part if needed or help out or just talk too and he had many stories to tell.

I know our small RC family will miss him a great deal.

RIP my friend.

I had a ton of fun battling Nick in CTA last year, and of course every club race. We will miss you buddy. Rest in peace Nick.

That's terrible. Raced with him a lot over the years. 😓

I'm very shocked and saddened to hear this. I only got to know Nick over the last couple years, but in that short amount of time I could see the passion he had for our hobby. I'll always cherish the WCICS race in Penticton this year when Nick bet me that he could change his TC chassis from carbon to aluminum in less than 40 minutes. I took the bet, and he got it done in 38 minutes. He was sooo excited!

Nick was a great character. I feel blessed to have called him my RC Friend and competitor. My thoughts go out to his family.

I'm shocked and saddened to hear this. Only met Nick a few years ago, and we'd only chatted a few times, but I really enjoyed his company.

Hope his family is doing ok.

I only spent one race with Nick but that's all it takes. He was such a wonderful, generous guy that made everyone around him better people.

My thoughts are with his family.

Just a couple weeks a go I was talking/emailing Nick about my next chassis. He was more than happy to share info and help me out.In some past wcics I have sat crossed from him and had a lot of laughs.

I showed up to a fundraiser for SORRCC before I had bought a car, turned a lap, or joined the club. I randomly sat down with Nick and he immediately began schooling me on car set-up, driving advice, etc... He was the kind of guy that could talk for hours about R/C and I'll miss our chats at the track. I sat at my desk and stared at the screen for about 2 hours last week when I heard the news, far too soon for a guy full of heart. My thoughts are with his fiancé and family.

RIP Nick, you were the first guy to fix my slash by doing a basic setup, and always a happy to help kind of guy. It's unfair that you are taken so early, until we race again my friend.
