My plan is to get 1/2 Large and 1/2 XL. Anyone wanting XXL or M let me know. Still waiting for the price... hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.

Fruit of the loom T's in black - so decent quality.

Delmo - we should do some cool Clutch Nutz ones for Red Deer too You got a design? I was thinking something like your entry form from last year.

See everyone on Saturday for the Edmonton opener!

Cool, I'm in. I'll bring a sample of our logo to the race for T's. It would be great to have some exposure. Cya Saturday.

I'd grab one too. XL. Any chance of picking them up at the Red Deer Race. Also I will probrobly be bringing a 30' trailer to the Red Deer event. Is there room to leave it set up at the track.

Thanks
Rob

Default Edmonton track update

We ran for the first time on the new Edmonton track this weekend. Everyone had a blast and we worked out a lot of the initial glitches... so things should be smooth for next week.

Just to help prepare you folks traveling to the race...
The clay surface has dried out and chunked badly. There are 3 or 4 few nice hard pack sections which will eventually start to groove ... but for the most part the track is currently very dry and CLAY MARBLES on top of packed clay. We'll be doing some cleanup to help fix this... like raking and selective patching and re-tamping but unless we get a major downpour we'll only be patching, watering and packing selectively.

When the track is smooth and hard tires like the knuckles, step-pins, and other smooth hard-pack friendly tires work well. In the marbles nothing really works ... but we had some success with Panther Geckos, Medial Easy's, Medial Adheris and Knukles worked for some guys (how I don't know since I couldn't go 5 feet with them...)

All I can say is - bring all your tires. We have no idea what the surface will be like yet… could be anything from slicks (if it rains on wed/thur and we re-pack) to sand paddles (HA HA) if we do nothing.

Also - both LHS are almost sold out of Nitro stuff (despite an initial stocking up...) They do have some MP7.5 spares but almost no tires for 1/8 or 1/10 GT. Electric stuff they seem okay on. Most of us have a good parts supply and will be willing to help out ... but (as normal for big races) bring as much stuff with you as you possibly can.

Current lap times are in the 50 - 60 second range depending on conditions. With rain and packing expect that to drop to 40ish seconds...

Default Great Hobbies has no 1/8 rims left...

Wayne (Dad?) Mah was there buying up the entire stock (4-5 pair, whoopie!) tonight when I stopped by on the way home from work.

Really sux working only a few blocks from there... I have no $$ anymore At least Hobby Wholesale is a _few_ more blocks away

And you 1/8 scale guys... Quite making them look so gosh darned fun to drive! (ok, I don't normally say gosh darned but there are minors here...) Thanks to you, I'm now saving up for one....

Actually I didn't clean them out, I bought only the fluorescent green ones. Great Hobbies still have a bunch of white Proline 1/8 velocity rim left.

1/8 is the only way to go!
