Regina Windy Racers

After completing our 6000sq/ft outdoor race track at the Regina Windy Flyers compound NE of Regina, we are burning off laps like mad, practicing for next spring. The plan is to set up club racing next spring and go all summer until the fall, likely 10-12 race days. Club members enjoy 24/7 year-round access to a private gated compound for practice days. A 100ft dirt oval is under construction at this time, as well as gathering materials for a crawling course.

Club fees are discounted for the rest of this year. If you are interested in joining us, email [email protected] for more details.

We have a great group of guys, currently at 16 members and growing.

I have some pics, but my post count is too low to add them to the thread just yet. Yosh, help me out here brotha...

Heres a couple older pix I had on my phone....rain and watering the track down a few times has packed the gumbo quite a bit and when we get a top layer, traction should be really good.

The spot where this driver is standing is the "tabletop" but a 6-7' drivers stand is in the works.

Looks good guys.. how many members? what classes you running?

We're at 16 members right now. We will decide what classes we will run as a group this winter. I see 1/8 e-truggy, 2wd and 4wd SC, 1/8 e-buggy in the future for sure, just because many of us already are running them. Nothing is excluded right now because we will need to see what everyone is going to run...

There's also guys with nitro buggies, 1/10 buggy 4wd, 1/10 truggy 4wd, stadium trucks, lots of different classes here.

I hope to see our numbers grow to around 30 members for the first year of racing.
It is a relatively technical course, but lots of fun.

out of town

Maybe us Winnipeg folk will make it down next year for the big race.

Haymaker 08-18-2014 09:26 PM

Thanks for the invite guys! To be honest, a trip was in the works this year, but we got so caught up in construction, the summer just kinda slipped by...

Hopefully in 2016, we will be set up to host out of town racers... And for sure you will see us in Saskatoon next year, you have my word!

For anyone that may be interested in joining us this fall, you can save even more money after September 1st. Email me at [email protected] for details.

Construction of our driver's stand will start in the next few weeks.

Regina guys get mylaps transponders and jump on a bus for one of Saskatoon's last races this year Sept 7, 14, 21'st. I can't wait to come race at your track next year.

1/8 Nitro Truggy and 1/10 SCT 4x4 or 2x4 for me.

we have racers from Swift current and other parts of Sask that make the drive for our local races. you guys could team up and come up for the day no problem.
/cheers
Trevor

Personally, I can't stray too far from the nest for any more RC stuff this year, but I will pass the info on to the group.

We are looking for a timing system for next spring, and would love any leads if any come up. Expenses this year have been higher than expected, and we will not be able to pick up a new mylaps system without some serious fundraising over the winter months, which is always easier said than done...

As we are each insured individually and not as a club, guests racing with us will be something we probably will have to wait a year or so for. We do have plans to get there, but it will take some time and planning on our part. Once we figure out insurance for invitational races, we will definitely work with you guys and any others who want to come out.

Now, for the Moose Jaw flying club to follow suit and build a track of their own too... :)

This year the Saskatoon club is racing every Saturday except for long weekends and I see you guys have some Sunday races. We'll definitely have to come down and check you guys out and vice-versa....
