Thanks Matt.

Time for me to get back into F1 then
Someone might want to change the wording on the first post to reflect that though, try and get as many racers per class as possible.

I think Ivan was trying to explain where we were coming from when we chose the classes that will be run. The classes that will be run at both races are farther down his post which I have amended and quoted here. We wanted classes that everyone was already running and having fun with at club racing.

Associated Electrics Inc./Team Associated has signed on as a series sponsor today. Everyone at NASCAR and CARCAR would like to thank Don at Team Associated for his support.

So what is the best tire to run at CARCAR, at NASCAR I like the SOREX 28.

Sorex 28's are the also the best tire. However, previous years others did not run them because they were not run in WCICS.

I suspect with this new series this will change.

Its probably a lot of personal preference, but I found the Sorex 28s to have too much traction. Just my opinion.

+1. I know last season there were different combos in the same heats, and really, we all had a tonne of traction. It came down to who could run with the most traction without rolling over.

I found changing my traction compound procedure was an easier adjustment than a softer tire. I much prefered to be on a harder tire (i love the old jacos) and add extra compound, than fighting with a softer tire. Theres a tonne of grip on the carpet at finals time. Hopefully i can add alot more compound in Edmonton and run the same tires.

Whatever leftover tires you had from other races or from charity from your other fellow racers.

Other than the first set of rubber tires I had to get when TC changed from foam to rubber and the ones I had to buy to race big races, I just keep using what I got left or from charity.

Open tires can open a can of worms if you let it. We are racing for FUN. You can choose to buy whatever tire to run in this series or at club racing. Who cares. It isn't gonna get you one Main higher just based on tires. That's where I see it and guys that club race with me can vouch that's my attitude even when CARCAR changed over to open TC tires.

Have fun. That's the key. That's why we have this series.

Ivan

For me thats usually Erwin! In TC mod, I had two blow outs last season on old tires, Erwin came to the rescue to keep me running Note, Jaco front and Sweep rear...... no good.
